Cola sucks (imo) and Quincey isn't near as good as Michalek who has been suggest for Tangs.
Or that you have been suggesting that trade for the past couple months
Same difference really though right?
I'd rather use Tanguay and abuse the New Jersey Devils. They need cost controlled players that can play big minutes, play both ways, and are top 6 forwards... What do they have? Oh, just a ton of young NHL ready D-men.
It's all good, I keep saying in the hopes that Feaster reads here and does it
Even if we don't find a way to get a replacement for Gio I would move Gio + to get the 5th pick and take Monahan and Lindholm and build a deep center position for the next decade.
Right, I honestly think the Flames should really go for it here.
In my opinion, there's no real reason to keep Giordano in a rebuild. Yes, it's nice to have a role model D-man, who can eat up some minutes, play physical, be offensive... etc... But he's also 30 years old. What you have in front of you, is truly, what you have in front of you.
Calgary won't be competing for the next few seasons, and right now his value is truly the highest. Why not move him, and maybe the 22nd or 28th pick to Carolina and step into the 5th slot?
5th and 6th; you can go either route:
1st line Center, 2nd line Center
1st line Center, 1st line RW.
Like; come on. D-men take a while to develop, so who knows, Wotherspoon, Sieloff or even Kulak in a few years might even show that they have the ability to be top four guys in the NHL... In addition, if Calgary is able to hold onto 22 and 28; you can probably grab onto two more defensive prospects... these two might be mega high end as well (even the d-men later in the draft this year are projected as being top four guys, with guys having top pair upside).
I'm all for going all in this year. Sell the farm (well, in this case, the vets), get the kids, sign FAs to plug holes while we wait a couple seasons... then start the Calgary dynasty.
