Couture penalty kills, does he not? It's all coming together perfectly.

Also a question if you don't mind. How does your team compare to the last couple years? A little insight into the strengths and weaknesses would be much appreciated.
Well, we're worse than we were in 2011 because that was the best team in franchise history by a mile.

Some viewers have conflated a decrease in scoring with poor play when it's really reflective of the Canucks playing a more conservative defensive system this year necessitated by their injury problems up front. It's worth noting that the 3-9 seeds in the west all have eerily similar goals for/against, around 2.5-2.6 gfpg, so decreased scoring isn't just a Canucks thing.

The Canucks haven't really had all their forwards healthy until now (besides Booth who's not coming back). Our only missing piece at the moment is Tanev, unfortunately that's a bit of a big deal as it means Barker slots in but nowhere near as bad as missing Kesler was.

It'll be interesting to see how the Canucks use their second and third lines -- I have a feeling the nucks will rely on the third line with Kesler as a possession machine to get the Sedins some sweet sweet zone starts. Just keep in mind that a lack of scoring doesn't mean a line is not playing well.

Don't forget the Sedins deciding to become two way forwards.

Powerplay rules playoffs, and if this team plans to go anywhere, the special teams have to start clicking.

#11...yeah I hate him.

O'Hallaran is the worst though #13, as already noted by allowing Daniel Sedin to get boarded by Eager (two minutes), elbowed/concussed by Keith (2 minutes yet his bosses say 5 game suspension), and punched repeatedly by Marchand (Daniel got 10 minutes).

I also hate #28, 33, and 37.

Mcauley #4 is hit and miss, and Chris Rooney #5 sometimes gets too carried away.

It's said that I know these numbers.

I'm not a fan of #32, Tom Kowal. This year, he has been terrible; in fact, he was the official who refereed the infamous Oilers vs Kings match in which Nail Yakupov scored the tying goal. The circumstances leading to that goal provoked such a response from the Oilers rookie. Throughout the match, both sides received several questionable penalties. His decisions have been quite controversial this year.

Hopefully he won't be officiating too many postseason matches.

Furlatt isn't.

Has 72 playoff games under his belt.

St Laurent only has 7 playoff games.

Haven't had serious problems with either one. Furlatt worked the 3-1 win against the Hawks. Both are near the bottom of the league in terms of their games beating the over/under, so expect it to be tight-checking, but we knew that already.

We had an issue with King in the 2010 playoffs when Daniel had a goal taken away against LA and King had a really lame justification for the decision to say it was kicked in.

Yeah, I'll never understand how you can "distinctly kick the puck" with the outside of your skate, while you're stopping.

You are allowed to direct it in...exactly what Daniel did....why did you have bring that up, now I'm all riled

Going to my first game tonight.

I've been a fan for 20 years, and, living in the prairies my entire life, have never had the pleasure of seeing a hockey game of any kind in Vancouver.

I'm slightly excited.

One of the NHL stooges was on HNIC to explain that Daniel no-goal call and he said the goal was disallowed because "Daniel knew what he was doing". Apparently, they can read minds now.

That was King, the BS about a "pendulum motion." I think our assumption at the time was Mike Murphy made the call and King had to make excuses for it.

Looks like they have a deal with the team. Playstation is one of the four centre ice logos.

Well they did get "better" later with the Lucic hit on Miller right? At least Shanny had the sense to ask Lucic whether he meant to hurt Miller first!

No Ryan Kesler to begin #Canucks game day skate. All others accounted for, including Cory Schneider. #nowayJose

I seem to recall us beating Detroit late in a game or tying it up on a similar play 10 or so years ago. Memory is foggy, it may have been the game Shanny knocked all Morrison's chicklets out, Nazzy tied it up late off the official, and BMo scored the OT winner.

Probably mixing up like 5 different games there
