God help us if we draft a defenseman at 9, this board would meltdown.

Ya I'm starting to pencil us with Domi honestly. I'll probably throw a mock together shortly but if it were to come down between Shinkaruk and Domi, I'm inclined to think Conte goes Domi.

With all the talent available in the top #10, 95% of that talent being up front, it would be nothing short of a crime if we took a d-man.

Stranger things have happend but I'd be freaking pissed if we went with Zadorov/Nurse/Ristolainen when knowing that Domi, Shinkaruk or one of the top forwards are still on the board.

Wouldn't put it past Conte and Lou to do it sadly.

If the Devils take a defensemen, at all... I will be pissed. I don't care if all of the offensive talent is gone by pick #10, I want a damn offensemen!!

But, being the Devils, I wouldn't be surprised if they do... I almost expect it.

I see Domi as somewhat of a Skinner type of player with a little more edge to his game. The kid is very very crafty, can dangle in a phonebooth and he's almost impossible to knock off the puck along the boards.

Shinkaruk has some Parise in his game. The same type of built, is a relentless skater, is good on the cycle and plays in any type of situations (5vs5, PP or PK).

Leaving the draft with one of those kids would be ideal... if we can't land one of the "top dogs".

I wouldn't be all that surprised if Buffalo took one or the other at #8, instead of a d-man, since alot of mock drafts have them taking a blueliner. They aren't shy about drafting "small" forwards and have done real well with them over the years.

I know their games

But I can see all forwards going in front of us without someone trading down. We'll see.

I'm leaning that way as well if it ends up being a choice between him or Shinkaruk.

When do you think Makarov gets picked?

Well, nevermind then, just draft Jarry and be done with it.

Might just be how they reached for Mitch Moroz last year, but I could see Edmonton taking Jarry at #37.

Last year, Conte talked about refilling the cupboard up front. I don't think that process ends with Matteau and I don't think it will end in the 2015 draft either.

There is zero chance we take a d-man in the 9 spot.

2015 is our next first rounder, unless Lou gets a 2014 1st in a trade. And I still think Conte will prefer a forward over a defenseman that year.

I think my sarcasm escaped you

And I'd prefer BPA to just going forward but the old men can decide that when the time comes.

The worst possible outcome IMO, is for us to draft Zadorov IMO. The kid is basically a SAH d-men with some "meh" offensive upside.

The last thing we would need is a freaking SAH, Russian, d-men. Despite the difference in size, he'd remind me too much of Volchenkov.

I would cry my life away if we left with Zadorov

Looks like an old wrinkly rooster. Has really bad skin, and his hair looks faker than Chico's only it probably isn't.

At 9 you know Lou will want Conte to go with BPA. Let's just hope it's a forward

You heard it here first:

1. Col - Jones
2. FLA - Mackinnon
3. TB - Drouin
4. Nashv - Nichushkin
5. CAR - Barkov
6. CAL - Monahan
7. EDM - Ristolainen
8. BUFF - Lindholm
9. NJD - Shinkaruk
10. Dal - Zadarov

*This may come as a result of trades, but judging by what the top ten most likely need, not considering free agency.

I would think that the Radulov experience would scare off Nashville from taking Nichushkin. Especially if there are viable alternatives like Barkov/Lindholm/Monahan.
