From The Oregonian: On track to the NHL Former Winter Hawk Paul Gaustad could be the first Portland-area player to be an NHL regular
Lot of personal info I didn't know about Gaustad in this 4 page article.
From the Portland Tribune: Gaustad mired in the minors
This one is from a few weeks ago. Gaustad has interesting comments on the CBA. “I think there should be (a cap),” Gaustad says.
“Right now, I’m on the lower end of the salaries, about $525,000, and I’d be more than willing to take a pay cut to get this thing going — for the health of the game. As players, we’re getting a little too greedy, but you gotta blame the owners for willing to give (players) the money. Both sides have screwed up.
“It’s stupid what they’re doing right now; with all the negotiations they couldn’t get something done? I was always optimistic, but when they didn’t get something done, I was disappointed.”
I can see why the Sabres like this guy.
