And so it begins...

This is the definition of a crucial game for our young team. I predict a short series if LA wins and an "everything is possible", long series if we win.

That said, I can't remember the last time I was excited like this because of a hockey game, so let's go Blues!

They need to get the damn lead and work like crazy to keep it. They trailed the entire series last year. And I'll say I won't feel the least bit bad if a certain karmic parallel thing happens in Game 1.

(Obviously I mean, you know, getting the lead )

As great as our 4th line has been, I'd really like to see our top 9 step it up. So is Oshie in or out?

Lets Go Blues! All I have to say is they havent played us with JayBo and Leopold on d. Also, they havent played against us with our new lines especially the 4th line.

you, sir, are a bad person!
honestly, I wouldn't shed a tear if karma strikes back but I'd rather see an injury free series at all, as unlikely as that may be

Sitting right here, I couldn't tell you who's going to win this game or this series. I am, however, pretty certain that we'll know the answer to both questions by the end of the first period.

Completely disagree. This is going to be a war. Don't think it's decided by one period.

I'll be there as well.

Going to an all out fight from the start.

These home games are crucial.

I don't think so.

I think the first goal will be crucial, but not the first period. Especially if not a single goal is scored. And even then, I think the first goal will not decide the series. It'll just be crucial.

im so giddy for this game tonight... im gonna miss the beginning... due to a broomball game . Still expecting a great 8 mins of 5 on 5 play from our 4th line. Hoping Oshie can infuse the top line with some energy and maybe get a quick goal to get things started

Can't wait, it's going to be a loooong day. Wish I could be there. I'll still be at work when it starts, going to record it and catch up once I get home. Eyes glued to the TV, I don't know how my heart is going to take it, honestly. I agree winning this game is so important. Let's Go Blues!!!!!

Finally!! Gameday!

Game 1 is as close to a must-win as a Game 1 ever will be.

The Blues have to get the monkey off their back AND take advantage of home ice.

Losing Game 1 sets up Game 2 as the possible end of the series for the Blues. Lose Game 2 and head to LA down 0-2, the boys might as well start making golfing arrangements.

Prediction: The Blues don't fall into the traps they did last year. They come out moving the puck quickly and avoiding dumb penalties

Blues 3, Kings 1

Goals from Steen, Shattenkirk, and Berglund

That's a good point..

Avoiding dumb penalties is another key to this series. Luckily they have been pretty good at doing that.

If Hitch sits Cracknell and Tarasenko is still playing how he has been I will lose my faith in Hitch. JR was on 101 today and he said he expects Cracknell to sit and basically that we will be dressing our best team on paper. I think it will be a mistake, but we'll see.

Of course the playoffs start on my last night of class...Have to talk the professor into giving me the take home final at the beginning of class. Blues lose the series in 5-6, and half this board complains about the core for the entire off-season.

Oh, and I wouldn't sit Frank.
