Good for Sydlowski for being in the ECHL instead of an even lower league. He's not in Amerks/Sabres plans though.

Last I heard Makarov had a lower body injury from practice. They will need to find him some playing time when healthy.
I know that we gave up on Szyd pretty much a year ago, but wow the guy didn't even manage to score a single goal in the AHL .

Per @FriedgeHNIC, the #Sabres have placed C Kevin Porter on waivers. #Amerks will be over veteran limit tomorrow at Hamilton if he clears.

Who sits? Tardif still hurt?

@KevinPestilence Tardif is playing. Well, assuming he's not the healthy veteran scratch if Porter clears.

Tardif wasn't hurt, he was sick.

There will likely be a rotation of the vets sitting out. That's my guess.

the limit is on who can dress right? And not on how many you can have on the roser?

Yes, the limit is who you can dress.

Only the 2009-2010 Amerks edition could rival this group of Amerks veterans:

2009-2010: Mike York, Jeff Taffe, Chris Taylor, Graham Mink, Clay Wilson, Jamie Johnson, Rory Fitzpatrick.

2013-2014: Mike Zigomanis, Matt Ellis, Kevin Porter, Jamie Tardif, Alex Sulzer, Drew Bagnall, Colton Gillies.

Pretty close. The 09-10 group probably has more offense. This year is more well rounded.

It'd be nice if Darcy maneuvered so that Larsson and Girgensons could play for the Amerks in the postseason. Knowing Darcy, however, they'll probably play the entire season in Buffalo and they won't be seen in Rochester at any point. They could ice a pretty dangerous lineup if they sent those two down for the postseason.

Regier would be wise to make a big push for the Calder Cup this year. He could sell some hope, even if the team had a lot of vets.

3-3 after two periods. I'm surprised this team is having such trouble keeping the puck out the net. Sulzer, Bagnall, McNabb, Ruhwedel is a good top four at the AHL level.

They like the Sabres have a coach who is outmatched every night.

The Rochester Americans scored three goals in the second period to erase a two-goal deficit, but couldnít complete the comeback as Louis Leblancís second goal of the game with 1:26 left in overtime lifted the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 4-3 win Friday at Copps Coliseum. The win drops the Amerks to 3-2-1-0 on the season.

Brayden McNabb led the Amerks with a goal and an assist while Luke Adam scored for the sixth time in six games and Phil Varone stretched his point streak to six games with another assist. Frederick Roy also found the back of the net for Rochester, which also received 28 saves from goaltender Nathan Lieuwen, who was making his second start of the season between the pipes.

Adam with a goal and an assist so far, now 3-0 with the Sulzer pp goal. End of the second. Marlies aren't doing much of anything, so Hackett isn't being really tested.

One of the Rogers announcers are having difficulty with Chad Ruhwedel's last name.

If the score holds, this will be their second win against the Marlies already this year.

I'd like to see Adam get the call for Monday's tilt vs Dallas and Lindy. He's earned it and I'm sure he'd like to stick it to Lindy.

4-1 final for Rochester. Varone scored the final goal, an empty netter. I think Adam had an assist on the goal.

2009, you have basically 2 former NHL All-Stars on that team (well 1, and another who should have been with Rory).

I'd look to 2001-02 tho (going with 26 yo+)....Chris Taylor, Christian Matte, Doug Houda, Craig Charron, Rory Fitzpatrick, Mike Hurlbutt, Marty Clapton, Tom Askey.

Well yeah if we go back 10-15 years there were better groups, but it was a different league then.

If nothing else this is a good game for Hackett to build off of. Hopefully he gets some of his confidence back.

#Amerks have signed 2 more to ECHL -- D Alex Lepkowski will join Knapp in Greenville, while G Andrey Makarov joins Szydlowski in Fort Wayne.

It is good that they get another person they are familiar with to play with.

Good news that they found a place for Makarov to play. It seems that now more than ever--especially with the current and impending influx of youngsters that have been/will be selected with their bevy of draft picks--that they will need a dedicated ECHL club. Get busy, Terry.

Knapp is off to a good start in Greenville. He's 2-1-0 with a 1.33 GAA an .957 SV%.
