Who would you put? Kesler? With all of the antics he pulls I would be embarrassed if he was our captain. Bieksa? Who plays like **** most of the time. Hamhuis? Burrows?

The problem with the Sedins in the playoffs is that unless they have a 2nd line that can add offense they get shutdown cause the other focus' all their top defensive players on the Sedins.

When the Canucks went to the finals Kesler created a 2nd line that made teams think twice about focusing so much attention on the Sedins. This is why AV needs to load up the 2nd line with Roy-Higgins-Kesler.

I was thinking if Gaunce was ready next year, make him the captain. He's a born leader and I think having a young captain like that would be really cool.

I thought the team played well last night, we had all the momentum before the kassian penalty. They have to stop taking stupid penalties, improve special teams, and take the shot when it's there. It's one game so not too worried yet, but I our stars will need to elevate their games if we want to advance.

that seems like a terrible idea, would he even play a season before we give him the C?

They are proven facts based on historical record. Or do these guys lose first line status if they don't all put up 70 point seasons here in the same year?

Also, you thought the team played well, other than the Sedins, really?

I'd still give the C to Bieksa.

5 scoring chances total, and 0 in the entire 3rd period, and the team plays well? I'm not following.

Canucks are scoring at a 0.68 GPG rate in the last 19 playoff games.

That is the only stat you need to know.

Lose this game and the series is over. This team does not have anywhere close to the firepower required to rattle off four of five.

I expect major, major changes in the offseason, as do many of you guys. AV has to go, that much is obvious. I think two or three of the core players (Sedins, Kesler, Bieksa, Hamhuis, Luongo, Burrows) will find themselves on new teams as well for some young talent.

Yup. I do. Carried the play through most of the 1st two periods, killed penalties well. Kept the Sharks offensive chances minimized. Offensively we were pretty bad, and to me that falls on the two best offensive players.

The team played well enough to win if everyone showed up.

Neither Roy or Kesler are 1C's. They just aren't. Very good players, but not 1C's.

Neither of those guys are proven 1C's. I be interested to see those facts.

Kesler has never even had to be a 1C, could he? Maybe. I just think he's a prototypical #2C....Roy is a #2C, not a prototypical one though.

We have to load up the 2nd line. Can't compete if we don't.

And I'm with Y2K....Kassian belongs on the 4th line. He's not ready to contribute in the top 6, and to be effective he needs to simplify his game to fit a 4th line. He still doesn't do that.

The #Canucks scheduled to hit the ice in about 45 mins. I expect Vigneault will do some line-juggling. Need to manufacture some offence.
we'll see what changes are being made

We need to consider stacking our top 6...

Sedin-Sedin-Kassian
Roy-Kesler-Burrows

All out.

3rd period withstanding, we were the better team through 2. I don't know many who wouldn't agree.

That's not stacked, Kassian is there.

Leave Burrows with the Twins and put Higgins with Kesler and Roy.

sharks have bite guys.

the sharks are not just playing for the cup but their existence , they are desparate! they are willing to give up their bodies for the goal to win. their will is strong reminds me of bruins in 2011. unless canucks are willing to give 200% this will be another first round exit and many changes to come. i would start with gilles and his belief that this core is a stanley cup one. should have gotten something for roberto when he had value 2 to 3 yrs ago.

That is absolutely ridiculous. I'm pretty sure we were all expecting one of these: () after you made that suggestion.

Obviously it wouldn't just be handed to him but I think if he proves himself he could very well get the C. I'd love to take the young captain Nugent Hopkins/Landeskog route with him.

It should fall on everyone, not just the twins. I didn't think their 1st was all that good. SJ had more scoring chances overall as well. I don't think your take is accurate.

Threshold analysis of the top 30 Cs has their points totals at a 1st line level. Kesler for 2.5 years and Roy for several. Over to you.

I'm of the opposite view on Kassian. He needs to first and foremost play with players that compliment his style. He's not a 4th line banger. He looks to make plays so pair him with someone that does that, like Roy.

Better than Henrik Disappear in the playoffs Sedin. Besides, it would be if he plays well.

Nugent-Hopkins isn't captain....He's not even an "A"
