My goalie finished 3rd in Conn Smythe voting last season and we lost the finals in 7 games. We only lost 1-0 and our captain(shannahan) was suspended for that one game while our 1st line center(sakic) was injured for a couple weeks. So garunteed had we managed a win my Goalie would have won and almost did anyways.

Ironically enough they stopped developing this game due to piracy. Now they won't even as allow you to purchase the game, forcing those that want to play it to download it lmao.

So I ended up staring a new game with the newest 6.0 UUDB with the Islanders, and I ran into a new problem! By having to many good players... I had a total rebuild and ended up with a lot of prospects getting NHL ready at the same time, but I'm having zero spots open.
So this year I'm having Kuznetsov fighting for a spot, RW on either first or second line, or 2C, But those spots are already taken by Okposo (35+55), Boedkar (35+60 rookie season) and Gagner (ppg)
The 2nd line LW is a possibility aswell, but he'll need training first (that spot is hold by Tambellini, back to back 40goals)

I have no idea what to do, might send him down to AHL for a season, but one of these has to go, or on another line, but who should it be?
The first line LW and C are Semin and Tavares if that helps

And another question, what do you do when you have to many top players?

Here are some ideas:

- I trade my older/less liked players for picks/prospects.

- If I have a guy who is a top 6 two-way player, I'll just put him on my 3rd line and give him big minutes on PK.

- If I have for example 3 centers (1 franchise, 2 great ones) who can produce points, I put the franchise player on 1st line and 1st PP unit and then I'll put the great ones in 2nd and 3rd line and the 3rd line guy is in 2nd PP unit.

- If they are young players you can keep them all for few years as they have ELC or bridge contracts and then you'll see which ones are developing in your system nad trade the others.

Edit:
I finally got my guy Tayler Pike (no idea whose regen) to pass Gretzkys point record. I thought it would be fun to gather all the hardware he has picked and make a list of them. I'll post them here when I play my playoffs. He's 40 years old and he still scoredeasily over 100 points but he doesn't want to re-sign

Hm, sounds alright! the problem is that I can't call anyone a two-way player, maybe Okposo can play that role, that or having Ganger play 3rd line center (Or if Kuz will start the season there and play PP) and move Talbot on the wing.

All of them is young and performing very well, the problem is when they're going to ask for more money...

Well I'll see what I can do

So now he has ended his career but couldn't end it with a stanley cup. He finished Art Ross Trophy 3rd place and was selected in the 2nd All-Star Team. Here's his career:

Regular Season: 1629 games 1431 goals + 1465 assists = 2896 points +1169 9.11 rating and 7394 hits
Playoffs: 300 games 270 goals + 276 asssists = 546 points +199 9.11 rating and 1294 hits

6x Stanley Cup, 5x Runner-up
2x Olympics Champions
12x West All-Star Team, 1x All-Star MVP, 3x Fastest Skater

3x Art Ross, 3x 2nd place, 5x 3rd place
7x Hart, 1x 2nd, 4x 3rd
5x Rocket, 6x 2nd, 3x 3rd
7x Pearson, 8x 2nd, 3x 3rd
6x Conn Smythe, 1x 2nd
3x Masterson 3rd place
4x Plus/minus, 3x 2nd, 1x 3rd
Calder Trophy
13x 1st All-star Team, 5x 2nd, Rookie
12x Fans Player of the Year

219 games 170+152=322 +111 8.10 352 hits in Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL)

And like I said before it's amazing how he never reached the "Star" reputation more than for a few weeks.

It is honestly, I've had guys with Jr.Stats like that reach star status before being drafted.

Oh it happens quite easily. I have a player who won the Art Ross, Hart and Pearson pretty much every year of his career, yet he has a hard time getting invited to the allstar game because his skills and reputation aren't quite as good as a selected few others. He might have been rated as a star for some time during his prime, though I'm not so sure about that either, but since he hit 30 he just can't get that reputation again, even while winning everything there is.

The star rating doesn't really seem to depend on performance. If you have a high skillset and perform well that's usually enough. Especially since the league doesn't really matter. A player who dominates the AHL because he is way too good for the league will see his reputation shoot up like crazy, which makes him hard to resign if his contract is running out.

Only 1 Calder Trophy? Then he is not so special.

The regens:

Labonte — Bourque
Kramer — Leetch
Young — Weight
Pospisil — Nedved
Popov — Mogilny
Westlund — Alfredsson
Verucci — Bertuzzi

Unfortunately it is not SI nor Sega really that won't allow selling of the game anymore. There were licensing reasons for having to stop selling the game after a certain period of time as licensing agreements don't last forever.

Not a laughing matter but really unfortunate for sure.

Riz and everyone else, I'm not sure if it's still possible since the last I heard of it working was about a year ago, (Nobody has posted about it from what I've seen since) but I after it was pulled from the site there used to be a way to purchase the game through the try n buy demo. As the demo is still circulating around the internet, it may be one thing to look into.

The game is definitely still purchasable through the try-and-buy demo. I lost my original purchase info and bought the game again a couple months ago on a new computer. Download the demo and then try to purchase it. I think its the credit card option that works. There's a thread on TBL somewhere about it

I had a defensemen reach star status at 22 during his rookie season. To be fair he put up 100 points in the ahl the year before and 41 in his rookie season. He was also one of my top 3 reputations as soon as I called him up(so tops while he was only superb). He is a Pronger regen.

I badly need to update my OS, but have been putting it off because it will break EHM.

Some users with Macs have been able to run the PC version of EHM 2007 using this guide: http://www.ehmtheblueline.com/forums...134174#p134174

So I've been playing with the 1998-1999 DB, I took the Wild who have 0 prospects or staff. Signed Lavvy as my head coach and got a few good scouts and associate coaches. Managed to sign a bunch of 17-year old UFAs like Brian Pothier, Ruslan Fedotenko and a few others. Traded for Selanne, Michael Peca and a few others and made it to the 3rd round of playoffs in year one after hovering around 14th place for half the season. Climbed up to 8th and made the playoffs on the last day then took out the #1 and #2 seeds before falling to #4 (the Kings, the eventual champs).

Something is really wrong , as soon as the year starts, all the guys that should be up for draft become UFAs in terms of the NHL so now I just signed a bunch of guys like Sharp, Cammalleri, Gaustad, Mike Smith, etc. that will all join the team in a year after a season of junior. I think it's because there's history of them having teams even though it's not displayed so they don't retain draft status.

Weird DB, but I'm having fun messing around. Future dynasty Wild for sure

Man nobody is playing anymore Still playing the 98-99 DB and finally found the legendary 1 rating Patrik Elias was -7 haha. Semin for the Hurricanes had 4 goals, 3 assists.

Hey I was thinking of doing a file coaching myself instead of letting the cpu handle it like I normally do. Does anybody have any input on whether to use team or unit tactics? Or any other tidbits they may want to share, and yes I know there is some guides around just wanted to ask about any personal input before I get started.

I don't coach myself but I use both team and unit tactics. I've found, it increases my goal outcome (lots of 6+ goal games) because it allows players to utilize what they're good at. If a player is a two-way player, allowing his personal tactic for mentality to be unaltered will be good because then when he's on a specific line, he will play to that line's style.

I have a question. As someone who never played hockey, do you guys try have a lefty and a righty on each defensive pairing? If so, does the righty go on the right or the left? In my 99 file, I've got Pronger and Paul Martin and both are both sides but Pronger is a lefty and Martin is a righty.
