There's also an interview with Dan Selin on Youtube. Dan is a hockey instructor with 40 years of experience that explains his solution to reducing head & body injuries in the game of hockey.

The interview is about 27 minutes in length (a bit lengthy), but I strongly recommend watching this clip as he brings up some very compelling points about the need to change the approach in on ice training.

A bit of a summary:

According to Dan, players need to train neurological (muscle / memory) skill patterns used in one on one battles. He explains when players master the neurological skill patterns, they play in an automatic mode. Playing in an automatic mode allows a player to use their peripheral nervous system (vision) to play heads up hockey.

Enjoy & feel free to leave comments.
