Minnesota - Winnipeg

To Minnesota
D Dustin Byfuglien
F Patrice Cormier

To Winnipeg
F Dany Heatley
F Cal Clutterbuck
D Justin Falk

Winnipeg gets a LHD we need, a perfect 3rd Line banger and a scoring winger to try out opposite to Kaner. He's overpaid, but he only has one year left if the experiment fails.

Minnesota gets a perfect partner for Suter and a local boy, while shedding some salary in order to re-sign and re-distribute on their roster and a prototype 4th liner to take a roster spot if Cullen retires.

Not sure on the valuation, does anyone add or subtract? Is Minnesota interested in this at all or is it way out in left field?

As a Wild fan, I'd do that trade.

I'm pretty sure Heatley has negative value. His contract is among the worst in the league.

That is a really good deal for the Wild IMO.

Wild is very interested about this and after careful consideration of five (5) seconds, graciously accepts. Can you fax the papers with your GM's phone number to Fletcher?

Dany Heatley is not a scoring winger anymore, he is a border-line 3rd line winger on the Wild, this trade is awful for Winnipeg

If the Wild truly wanted Heatley I would assume it would take a heck of a lot less than Big Buff going the other way (I know you included Clutterbuck and Falk there too, but I don't think the Jets are looking to part with Buffy for anything less than an established top line center).

As a Jets fan, I'd pass.

Also: Heatley back with the Thrashers / Jets franchise? Slightly awkward, no?

Wha.....Bu........He......WHY?!!!!!

We give up one of the best offensive defensemen in the league for:

1) A D prospect
2) Another body to throw on our pile of 3rd liners
3) A broken Dany Heatley who's getting paid like a 2005 Dany Heatley

That's just terrible for us.

Do the wild include a time machine so the Jets can get Heatley from 10 years ago? The complaint with Antropov/Jokinen/Wellwood is they're too slow to play with Kane - I don't see how Heatley is an upgrade on any of those guys.

Pretty bad for the Jets.

Would like to have Clutterbuck, but if Buff is traded it's for top line forwards.

Big no to this trade.

I'm too hot and cold on Buff to be comfortable with this trade. Clutterbuck will probably be traded at the draft for a pick or to move up, and Falk has a lot of upside and will eventually take Stoner's spot.

First Thought: this deal isn't too bad. Not sure why all the Jets fans are getting upset.

Second thought: wait a second...Justin Faulk plays for Carolina...Justin Falk... Oh God no. This deal is sooo bad for Winnipeg.

If Im Winnipeg I do that in a heartbeat. Heatley's a ****in allstar, 50 in 07 bro

Seriously though Byfuglien is all kinds of awesome. Minnesota would be getting the haul of the century.

Great deal for the Wild? Bad deal for Winnipeg though.

Yea, Wild would love this. Heater is bad, real bad.

Buff would be a great fit though!
