Subban hit on Neil was worse ... and no penalty was called.

I'm not going to lie. The Gryba hit was my favourite part of the game. I didn't care if the Sens lost after that. I liked it that much.

^^^**** off

Oh yeah, and if they don't give Gryba some kind of penalty there the game would have been obscenely ugly.

Don't worry. It's over with. The refs didn't see a whole lot so they probably thought that they had to give a penalty, but there's no way that there will be a suspension.

Eller, I hope you will be alright.
Eller, jeg håber du klarer dig.

But this hit shouldn't be a penalty, how is this a dirty hit?

I made a comment on a video of Gryba's hit, defending it. I got top comment, and this was my email inbox shortly after:

Almost all of them are idiot Hab fans using limited logic and an abundance of cuss words to make fools out of themselves. Only replied to a couple before giving up because there were so many. Had to disable YouTube from emailing me when I get a reply... retarded replies are still flowing in

The interference call was a joke. I could understand if the refs called it on Rule 48 (the quickness of that hit makes it hard to tell if it's a Rule 48 violation after just one look).

I haven't yet seen a good replay. CBC showed the same two angles and I wasn't close enough to the television to get a good look. I thought at the time it was full body contact, rather than targeting the head. Need to review it before I definitively think it was clean.

I will say that it was an absolute suicide pass by Diaz.

Edit - Back angle makes it look like the arm was the principle point of contact.

IMO it was a clean hit & it was Eller's face hitting the ice that caused all the blood. It should not have been a 5 min major, I didn't even think it would have been a 2 minute penalty, it looked to me like it was shoulder to body. Diaz should have gotten a penalty for the stupid suicide pass & putting his own player in a vulnerable position. I think it was the result that forced the refs to call the penalty to try & keep the game in hand.

I don't think a penalty was ridiculous there, and I don't think a game suspension would be ridiculous either.

Garry Galley's initial description of it was absurd, though. I don't know if he's affected by the atmosphere but he had Habs coloured glasses on all game.
The penalty was a joke, and a suspension would be a disgrace. It was a clean hit. The only reason Eller was bleeding was because his face hit the ice.

Watch him hit the ice. Eller's head hits the ice pretty hard. THAT is why he was bleeding, not because of any contact from Gryba. Clean hit.

Any suspension at all is a disgrace.

Big hit. But it was clean. I mean there was a crazy amount of blood so I understand why they game Gryba the 5 and game. It's Diaz's fault. Bad suicide pass. Very bad.

Montréal typical

Anyone surprised?

Seriously, I'm not really interested in that series, playing Montreal is the worst thing that could happen to your hockey team. I'd rather go on dates with women. Like tomorrow, going to the movies drive-in instead of watching the 2nd game. I'll watch it on PVR if you guys tell me it's worth my time, lol

Was a great win and was happy this absurd penalty didn't cost us the game.

relax man were talking penalty high sticking with blood is 4 minutes. It happens lets just be happy it didn't cost us the game.

For real i can see why it was called. you see the head get hit and the guy in unconscious bleeding on the ground. It's a no brainer.

Clean hit. Unfortunate result. I hope Eller is ok but it's not suspendable.

Gryba is huge. Poor Eller, he was doomed as soon as Diaz made him that suicide pass. Same play as Cowen vs Skinner + Larore. I guess Diaz did not receive the memo...

Hockey is too rough. You hate to see guys get seriously injured by a hockey play turn bad.

I think Gryba could have spare the poor guy, but Subban may have triggered that play by hitting Neil and missing another Sens (Pageau ???).

Not to mention Subban left his feet on both hits.

But he does that on every hit.
