Oh well, at least he helped the Kings win a cup. Simmonds and Schenn are both golfing right now.

It can be. I have all of the kings wins from last season on my dvr. I will watch them in order if the kings are eliminated.

Where did Kopitar have his vacation during the 2011/2012 off season? You know, before the one when they won the cup.

Agreed. I'm excited to see the intensity these guys bring...what's gonna happen with our backs vs. the walls? Guys that are 'injured' are gonna play...I'd expect to see Greene and maybe Martinez, Doughty play 35 min, etc.

Technically, it isn't.

Monday could be the first must win game for the kings lose Saturday.

Correct on both points. We sound like Vancouver fans blaming Luongo when they lose 2-1 or 3-1.

The Kings have 2 goals in 2 games, one a 5 on 3, the other a 6 on 5, and people are blaming Muzzin and Ellerby? ha

Like the other guy said, this team is losing because it's 5,6 and 7 million dollar players have been ****, not because of Ellerby or Muzzin.

I don't think Greene would sit out a playoff game no matter how hurt he was, unless he was made to. I don't know what would change between now and Saturday in all honesty. If Sutter plays him that is going to require some serious questioning. Like, why not Thursday? I don't think he'd be a big difference maker in terms of play, but leadership and showing character, absolutely.

Still, he could play his absolute best game, and it isn't going to matter if Kopitar and Richards don't ramp it up. I know they can and believe they will. They had better.

Maybe it's time for the Kings to bring in Tony Robbins for inspiration.
http://training.tonyrobbins.com/1838...e-stanley-cup/

Seriously though, the secondary goal scoring support, role players stepping up their play, the top players looking like scoring threats every time they hit the ice, we are not seeing any of that this year. We saw plenty of it en route to the Cup, but if they don't get any of that this year, then an early exit should come as no surprise.

I agree. I think you're right. I just don't think it would be the first time a guy comes back to try and salvage the series, but I also guess it depends on how mobile he is.

This series is far from over, and for those L.A. fans who are saying "sweep" why don't you just leave. You really don't understand hockey.
Kings have to win 4 of 5, and if I'm not mistaken they would either have to win 4 in a row starting with the next game or become the first team ever to take a series to 7 games and then win the cup. Either way it doesn't look good, even if they somehow manage to pull this round out.

- Kopitar is obviously hurt and playing awful.
- Richards and Carter are struggling.
- Muzzerby is an abomination.
- Regher is barely a replacement for Greene, to say nothing of Mitchell.
- We're being outhit.
- We're getting no cycle, no low to high, no D to D, no point shots and rebounds. All those things made us super successful last year, and they just can get it done this year.

Full credit to St. Louis, they are out for blood and they are getting it. You're not going to win many scoring 2 goals in 2 games, no matter who you are.

a lot of the their turnovers leave the kings pinned in their own end for long periods of time, taking the energy out of the forwards. could the forwards be better sure, but muzzerby has been dreadful.

He had it midseason right here in LA and across NA, that huge slump finally enabled him to rest enough to turn it up for playoffs. Too bad this season the playoffs are overlapped with his usual midseason vacation schedule.

A lot could happen with 2 days of extra rest, so, I wouldn't count out Greene just yet. Insertion of Greene, Amart and Toffoli could be the spark that this team needs.

For what it's worth, the Bruins lost two home games to Montreal to start off the first round of 2011. They scored only one goal! Then in the Finals they dropped two in Vancouver, only scoring two goals. They played three seven game series just that year. So can any team do it, you bet. I don't think we should be ruling anything out.

Coming back from 2-0 down isn't an insurmountable task, not at all. The Kings were going to go 2-0 down at some point, that playoff road record last year was not repeatable.

Our third line played big last year in the post season. Winning board battles and chiping in offensively... not sure much thus far.

Poor Kopitar did not answer the bell tonight.

St. Louis is just doing what the kings did to Vancouver. There is huge motivation to take out the team that eliminated you the previous season. It's even more of a motivation when the team that eliminated you just won the cup.

Kings just don't have the same motivation and Greene/Mitchell were huge pieces of the team that didn't get enough credit.

I just don't think there is enough hunger on this team. Quick seems to be the only one who wants to fight for this.
