Happy with the split. What I am worried about is Karlsson and the rest of the team bouncing back from a mediocre game. I hope the crowd can really energize our players!

Haven't read the thread yet to catch-up, but I will after I post. Anyhoo, tried to give it a day to digest. But it bugged me all day and I really feel like game two was a massive missed opportunity and the line-up change is what irks me the most. With so much talent out of the Habs line-up, for us to water down our own basically nullified what could have been a real advantage. No guarantees and I have hindsight to make me look like I know better than the guys who actually had the responsibility of making the decision, but in the end I think it was not the right call. Didn't like it when I heard it, didn't like it on the ice, hate it today.

Let's hope for a big tough effort by the medium-sized talented players. If we go to the net hard, have a net presence in both ends, and work hard we'll win.

Did we win the first game ? Clearly we needed to change things up.

The character of this team is to bounce back after stinko games. Neither Montreal games were great. The rookies will be in a better zone at home, and Anderson will have a day between games. Maclean will make adjustments.

On vacation and going to the casino tomorrow to put a $100 on the Sens.

I thought we played well enough to win, we even outplayed them in the 2nd period but we allowed 3 goals on bad defensive plays.

Our PP needs to start producing. It's so bad it gives momentum to other teams. We need more shots from the point because our options down low are not working. I would put Alfi back on the point with Karlsson and put Gonchar on the 2nd with Wiercioch.

We also need to be more involved physically. We were the more physical team in Game 1, they raised their level for Game 2. I'm not sure they have another level, I know we do.

Because it was clearly our skill that won the day what with Norris Trophy Winner Marc Methot getting the GWG, Silfverberg sniping it at Carey Price from a nothing play.

We won the first game because Craig Anderson was incredibly good, we got a lucky game tying goal and then a nice bounce on the Methot goal.

We aren't winning games because of skill and speed, that's for sure.

We got very lucky in Game 1 in tying the game (played some great hockey after that) and played like utter garbage in game 2 except after the Phillips goal until Montreal scored to go up 3-1. So in both away games the team has played around 1.5 period of good, solid hockey: the rest has been all Montreal versus Craig Anderson

Therrien has figured out how to play against us and is putting on a clinic

Maclean needs to make some serious adjustments and completely overhaul the PP

We still have home-ice advantage, it's the time the boys played like it matters

Although if Karlsson can't rebound from last game (maybe he's hurt) then we are completely ****ed

It's true, we've played 5 bad periods out of 6, the one good period being the 3rd against Montreal (and even that was largely thanks to a couple flukey goals).

We need to turn things around big-time at home. Hard-hitting and hard-working right from the opening face-off. However, there's no need for Kassian, he played reasonably well for his standards but Conacher's speed is an asset against the Habs.

I love toughness when its actually fast enough to get to the area where the play is and deliver a hit. Kassian is like Laraque when Montreal was playing Boston and Lucic fed Komisarek a few years ago.... Lucic was happy to skate away from Laraque to pound another guy.

I'd rather see Smith and Neil and gasp....Greening??? take some runs at the smaller Montreal D- theyve been invisible to me. Smith seems like he's comfortable to take 2 periods off after one hard shift.

I get frustrated at the picks the habs d is running on our 1st forechecker all the time, and seeing other stuff let go, and then I think about what our PP would do if the calls had been made and frustration turns to depression.

Also: what the **** is up with Michalek? Has he done anything in the series? I see Alfie working well with Pags or Turris- or just creating on his own- but 9MM is invisible.

I hate to sound like a broken record but Michalek is simply bad come playoff time

Always has been

EDIT: actually, not bad because he remains good defensively. He just doesn't produce in the playoffs.

Playing on bum knees. Any other scenario other than playoffs he is still rehabbing.

Wow... that pregame video on CBC was ridiculous. Completely biased towards the habs.
