Because the first line doesn't necessarily play the most, with the second line playing the second-most. IIRC he actually played less minutes in that first game on the 'second line' than he had all season with McClement/Komarov and the like.

Know what? I am taking a complete 180 from my previous attitude. We will win this game. This team has heart, they care, and they will not allow themselves to be embarrassed twice. We were basically expected to do nothing this year, considering every other team in the East "Improved" more than we did. We were bound to be one of the bottom seeded teams, yet despite that, we fought to make it here. There is no way we will roll over.

Burn those ****ing boats, Carlyle. There is no going back to those losing ways. Lets fight the Bruins with everything we have got.

JVR - Bozak - Kessel
Lupul - Kadri - Kulemin
Komarov - Grabo - Frattin
Hamilton - McClement - Orr

Gunnar - Phaneuf
Fraser - Franson
Gardiner - O'Byrne

but those forward lines could look much different.
i can dig it.

the lines might look like this tonight (unconfirmed):

Lupul-Bozak-Kessel
JVR-Grabovski-Kulemin
Komarov-Kadri-Frattin
Hamilton-McClement-Orr

Gunnarsson-Phaneuf
Fraser-Franson
O'Byrne-Gardiner

Reimer
Scrivens

-----------------

i could live with these lines. it's a dramatic improvement over the game 1 lines. though switching komarov and JVR would be better (making the kadri line the second line)

These are the exact lines I have heard as well.

Who are all these PMD that our opponents Boston posses ?

Mark Fraser +18 verses JM Liles -1 .. Who do you think is on the ice for less ES goals against based on that +/- stat?

Who do you think records more hits and more blocked shots and stronger along the boards and clearing the front of the net between the two players?

Who is better suited to take on the big Bruins forwards?

There is a reason why Carlyle prefers Fraser and playing him instead of Liles.

Why is RC putting people with centers they didn't play with in regular season. First lupul with grabo in game 1, now JVR with grabo. Its not experiment time. Now they have to try and find chemistry.

It might work, but its risky.

I'm just glad the Leafs got a feel of what playoff hockey is like.. and of course no more Kostka. I expect a better effort at least.

I pray Carlyle doesn't let them play bruins like hockey instead beat them with some speed like the habs did.

I hope the changes to the lineup work. I'm not sure why Carlyle picked the opening round of the playoffs to start ****ing around with the line combinations.

Liles better play.

Also, hopefully no more moronic flips through the middle of the ice right to a Bruins forward.

GO LEAFS GO!

That would be something considering he only has 3 in his last 23 against Boston.

Well just have to cross our fingers and hope for the best. Just have to move the puck better and get on the attack. Need some post-season heroes to emerge in this one.

Best to make up for lost time then . Besides knowing Kessel if he can just break through 5 on 5 against this team he might finally start scoring in bunches.

No better time than the present to break a concerning trend!!!!

Kessel has yet to score an ES goal in what amounts to more than 3 X 7 games series worth of previous matchups.

So I would say he is due.

Can't be serious putting Gardiner AND O'byrne on the same pairing.

That's just asking for it.

Having Liles and Gardiner in just makes too much sense. Considering we need to improve our transition game in the neutral zone? Ah whatever, just win please.

I haven't read a "BURN THE BOATS" comment in a while, unlike the others GDT's. I guess were all a little doubtful. Nevertheless, BURN THE BOATS!!!!!!

didn't JVR play with Grabo to begin the season? They had a little bit of chemistry.

Then Lupul got hurt, and JVR moved up to the top line.

Our transition game really hurt us last game. Liles and Gardiner should be in IMO
