Might as well throw in Cannata if you're going that route.

Luongo should start until his play blows up or the Canucks are eliminated, whichever comes first.
Cannata? are you serious...? Cory out played Lu all the season and Lu's only in because of Cory's injury. He deserves to be in there.

If Schneider is healthy, I'd put him in. Luongo probably deserves to start game 3 based on his play so far, but there are other factors to consider. I consider the two goalies pretty much interchangeable in terms of ability right now, so those other factors weigh heavily in my thinking.

1. Does Luongo want to play for an Eastern team? If he has expressed that to management, then you probably need to give the reins back to Schneider since it is his job going forward.

2. Are we leaning towards blowing up the core? If so, then Schneider should still be a extremely good goalie by the time a rebuild or retooling is complete. It is less certain whether Luongo would be depending on the timeframe for that. If we're trying to do a major overhaul, then Schneider is the goalie going forward.

The situation where Luongo remains the goalie is if you think that less major tweaks can produce a contending team, and Luongo wishes to stay in Vancouver. In such a case, trading Schneider for a good part is an option.

I think the Canucks still have a chance at winning this series (albeit heavily diminished now), but I think the win chance is roughly the same for each goalie. Therefore, the decision to start a particular goalie should look more towards future ramifications if their current impact is similar.

The team MVP obviously. But only if he's 100%.

Luongo has been good, but he hasn't been great, six goals allowed in 2 games.

Go with the team MVP no question.

Luongo has been below average, not good. .905 doesn't cut it these days. That last second goal that snuck through his legs was killer. We need Schneider to come in and steal games because we can't score.

You didn't watch the games did you? Luongo was by far our best player in both games. He was the only one to show up for game 1, and was the only one outside of Kesler who decided to show up in the third period, who thought game 2 was worth playing.

The poster I quoted suggested putting in Schneider for the long term benefits. From this point on, long term Joe Cannata is probably going to be on this team longer than Roberto Luongo will be. So yes, to emphasize that point, I'm serious.

The results of the past two games would've been the exact same with Schneider in net.

If Schneider is completely healthy, Schneider plays. He's the #1 goalie.

If not, we're in good hands with Lou.

maybe but Schneider has a higher ability to steal games single handily than Lu has. He's shown that more than Lu this season.

Watched both Canucks game and despite Luongo's ugly stats, he has been amazing for you guys the last two games. He definitely deserves the start and is probably the least of your problems...now the offense on the other hand

Doesn't matter who starts. Can't win if you can't score.

If Cory's healthy, put him in for a shake up. If not, Cannata

Jk, Luongo.

Lou has been good but I wish he had had that goal at 1 min left in the 3rd. Heartbreaker.

Any way happy with Luongo starting next game if needed but if Schneider is ready it is his team now so he should start.

What message does it send to the team if you don't start Luongo next game? I'm not looking at it from any other view point than game 3. Luongo has been the only player to show up for both games. He is the reason we weren't completely blown out in game 1, and he was the reason Kesler had the opportunity to give us a lead in game 2. Luongo has by far been our MVP of these playoffs, and now some people want to bench him? Why send the message that it doesn't matter how well you play we are going to do what we are going to do??

If anyone should be benched next game it's the Sedins.

Wasn't lights out on the tying goal.

That was a team screwup though.

and by team I mean henrik and Luongo.

Really though, doesn't matter. Sedins are sucking too much for the offense to actually help out either goalie. Luongo has been good enough to win both games.

Kesler was easily better tonight.

Luongo let in a crap goal in the final minute. I don't blame him for the loss, puck should never have been in that area. I blame Henrik for that. Third goal wasn't his fault. First was Edler being useless in front of the net (shocker).

It wasn't a crap goal. How is he supposed to know that the puck is there behind him? 99 times out of 100 that puck is between any goalies legs, and 50 times out of 100 when the puck isn't it ends up in the back of the net. It was a tough and unlucky goal.

Kesler played great in the 3rd period, but didn't see anything out of him in the first. Hard to say he was our best player tonight, but he did leave it all out on the ice.

Kesler had a good period and a half but was ass defensively.. no where near great two way play.
