I want this team to win, I really do. There is just a part of me that hopes we lose the final two games and fall in a sweep. This would almost force management into acknowledging the fact that this team has run it's course. We need major changes from coaching to player personnel.

... and yes, I am prepared for bombing I will probably receive for saying this.

A lot of people were saying the same thing last year, and nothing changed. I hope changes are made though, starting with the three monkeys behind the bench.

Just another year where we'll watch somebody else win.

True, but last season wasn't a sweep and they also had the "Sedin injury card" they could use. This year would be back to back 1st round exits and not one of the top players is out of the lineup. Add a sweep this season and only the blindest of the blind would not see what has been brewing for 2 years now.

My point was, even though Pittsburgh has been successful in recent years, they have still been able to draft well and use those draftees to further better their team either by promoting them to the main roster or flipping them for veteran players for a post season push

Pretty sure I saw Logan Couture bail and dive in the Kentucky Derby.

Scheoder and Schneider coming back eh? I find it hard to believe that one single player can change anything let alone a rookie.

But I wanna be optimistic and say that we just need that one extra good pass to make a difference, and I believe that Scheoder has that in him.

If he's playing, he's going to be playing injured. I don't expect much (nor should we, he's a rookie). It's up to the leaders.

Did you see Ryan Kesler put this team on his back last night and almost pull off a huge win? One player can make a huge difference. If Schneider is not rusty and Kesler plays like he did in the last game it could make our team more dangerous. Also, Schroeder is the only player that seems to have any chemistry with Raymond and they played great together with Hansen. If Schroeder is healthy, adding him also increases the chance that Raymond plays like a competent NHLer.

They've been able to trade them because they have a young core due to sucking for so many years. As far as making the team goes, Simon Despres and Beau Bennett are the only prospects to make their roster since the 2007 draft.

Looking at their prospect pool, I don't even know why they're ranked so high other than assuming that their head writer must be good at championing for them. Their prospect pool is quite possibly the worst in the NHL and shouldn't be ranked Top 20.

Comparing us to a team that built their core by picking 5th, 1st, 2nd, 1st and 2nd just makes no sense. Outside of that their drafting has been average at best (including picking up "gems" like Esposito 20th overall and reaching for Pouliot at 8th).

If it's any constellation, the Sharks aren't great at home historically in the playoffs...

Sigh. Whyyyyyy did they have to lose yesterday? Whyyyyyyyy

Haha. You're right. Kesler is a beast out there. I guess I was talking about hockey in general as it is a team based game. Since, ya know, one person makes a difference, but the overall results doesn't change until the rest of the team shows up as well which is why we're down 2-0...

But still, I'm looking forward to see Scheoder and Schneider out there!

What realistic other options are the for AV if Tanev is still injured? None. Alberts or Corrado in the top four? Not a chance.

Even a shot in the dark option like Ballard would've given the blueline another pairing combination. But he's not even in the lineup; so if Edler has gaffes in this own end again - we're up **** creek without a paddle.

What you *should* say, for the love of jeebus.....give ****'in more ES icetime to Hamhuis-Garrison and LESS ES icetime to Edler-Bieksa.

Luongo has allowed three goals in each of his two games.

I think you mean, score four goals, problem solved.

Maybe if you do it a game earlier than Toews, you will get one more win?

Why not? San Jose does it:

Irwin - Boyle
Vlasic - Braun
Stuart - Hannan

They put their 3 best with their 3 worst. Edler and Bieksa are old enough to shelter other players, with this much time in the league, they need stop being the one's who are sheltered.

They can't even shelter each other much less inferior players like Alberts and Corrado (at this stage in his career - he'll get better though as he gets more experience).

Because it has worked before (for at least a short period of time) - if Edler again shows signs of weakness early on the game:

Hamhuis-Bieksa
Ballard (originally put as the 12th forward but substitute as a D if required)-Garrison....not all the time but anything to reduce Edler's ES minutes.
Edler-Corrado (or Alberts).

Nope.

Not saying they can't, but it won't be easy.

And that first line... who would shoot the puck?

With the fire drill hockey the Canucks are playing, they should be scoring six or seven goals every game. Too bad they can't actually gain the zone.

Ahhh. This is where we can choose. Split the twins or put Kesler on the first line.

Sedin-Sedin-Kesler
Higgins-Roy-Burrows

or

Burrows-Sedin-Kesler
Sedin-Roy-Higgins

If change be needed, this is a force to reckon with!

I thought we did a good job of gaining the zone last night, especially in the first. San Jose was dumping and chasing more than we were
