This is true. Price also had the luxury of the Martin system. We shouldn't even be comparing these goalies. The fact that we are says a lot about Price.

People can say what they want but the stats don't lie here, in GAA and save% Price and Budaj are respectively 14th and 19th out 19 goalies to have played in the playoffs. We didn't get any kind of goaltending at all.

And all the people who say : we scored 1 goal, can't win with one goal in regulation.

Apparently, you can if these playoffs are any indication. Quite a few games won 2-1 in OT. But that can't happen with crap goaltending.

Our goaltending was nowhere near where it needed to be. Very disappointing. I don't think our defence helped either. I thought that was brutal as well.

I watch other games and there are defensive breakdowns all over the place. They don't always result in a goal though. A defensive with bad goaltending will always look worse than it is.

But for an anemic offense like the sens' to score that many goals ? It wasn't just the goalies. They sure as hell didn't give us any chance to win though. Basically, only time we got good goaltending was game 2 which we won.

Ribeiro is a much better hockey player. And our game is hockey. If we'd be discussing "how to conduct yourself in an opera house" so yes....I'd take DD....

We can be sure of one thing....if Quincey would have been called Subban...TSN would have said that it was a big time dive....

Ribeiro, no question. It's just a matter of whether the room has the right group of guys to deal with/manage the prima dona element that you know comes as part of the package. Undoubtedly you get more from $5 million of Ribeiro than you do from $3.5 million of Desharnais. Neither is a step in the "ideal" direction, though.

This league is just huh...

That's the funny thing about it all. I see defensive breakdowns all the time yet peopel act like it only happens in MOntreal.

In the playoffs especially, Price just isn't good. Having 1 good game every once in a while does not erase the poor performances. We would have lost the series, but Price needs to be better in game 1....keep the game closer in game 3 and needs to somehow make a save in game 4. Again, the 2 goals that went in were difficult, but that's what separates great from average. Making saves you had no business making.

I doubt he's going to because Crosby is too damn popular, but I hope Tavares wins the Hart. The Pens were fine after Crosby went down, while the Isles are nothing without Tavares. He's their leader, heart and soul player and the reason they made the playoffs. A true MVP.

But that's about it though. Ribeiro isn't the sole problem. The vet squad around him is. Don't tell me that you can't fix that guy if you have some serious vet leadership in that room.

By the way...I know. Nothing ideal here. Just wanted to point out that Ribeiro has done so much more than most people here wanted to think he could do.

its a shame what this franchise has become when getting a player like this would ever be considered positively.

That led to a goal that has most likely decided a game and maybe a series. Disgraceful reffing. It gets worse every year.

We got a good one in TInordi, but I was sure that in 2010, the guy we would be aiming for was Etem because of his insane speed.

I hope the Red Wing win this game. Otherwise, just an awful mistake by the ref.

Detroit gets scrwed by the refs, and comes right back and wins. Good for them.
