Can't really say that when it's our own fanbase who criticizes them to that standard. The Sedins have to be Danny Briere in the playoffs.

Brian Bickell and Michael Frolik had 5 goals combine against the Wild, the same number of total goals scored by Vancouver forwards in the first round.

So ****ing depressing

Might've not been the case had we been facing Greiss instead of Niemi (eg, Harding instead of Backstrom).

Yea, I suppose that makes me feel a little better.

Nonetheless, it's depressing to watch young guys / role players step up with clutch goals for other organizations during the postseason.

You can't help but feel a little rage inside towards the Canucks depth players, who seemed to vanish into thin air during a warm Boston summer night in 2011.

I like the Sens chances too. Andersen+sens D vs Peng O + Fleury/Vokoun
I think the Sens can expose the Penguins weaknesses. I mean, the freaking Islanders are exposing them. I think the Sens can compete with anyone in the league, and there's a reason for that - the man standing behind the bench. He knows how to get the most out of his players and plays to their strengths. He's done a great job with a pretty young, inexperienced team. Would be nice to have a coach that would play youngsters like MacLean does. I know we don't have those top end guys, but point still stands when Schroeder is constantly doghoused.

Anaheim as well (so far). They've been carrying them.

Toews not on the final 3 for the Hart trophy. Bit surprising

I am really cheering for the blues, but I am sadly thinking the kings will win this series.

As much as I am not a king fan, part of me also thinks the blues are going to be so beat up, and have trouble scoring after the first round.

Not really.

Thank god the American media don't feel the need to artificially elevate Toews to Crosby's level, like the Canadian media does.

Kane was their MVP. They had the best record in the league, Kane scored more points and from watching, many were game winning points/goals.

Toews is a great player, but I feel TSN (LeBrun and Mackenzie) really badly want there to be a Toews vs Crosby debate, even when it's clear to everyone they aren't in the same stratosphere.

Toews had one more point than Tavares and he played on a freakin' juggernaut offensive team.

Didn't belong in the voting, glad they got it right.

I had Sid, Johnny T and Toews. Ovechkin put the team on his back but he has had some disgustingly poor games this season, that's got to be considered IMO.

Toews put up a PPG (and +28) while playing shut-down C... his intangibles are what make the Canadian media go gaga over him, and while I think they hype it a bit too much, it definitely is noteworthy (and Hart worthy).

I'm more shocked that Bobrovsky isn't in the Top 3. The guy is the whole reason the Jackets weren't drafting Seth Jones this year.

I thought Bob was great...but Richards had that Columbus team workng harder than any other team this year...and I think they are going to be a playoff team in the east next year.

Would have been nice to see that work ethic here.

Agreed. I was surprised with Richards' success because, holy crap, was he terrible in Minnesota.

That's because they had fleury in net, the pens have seemed to have figured it out with Vokoun.

He looks terrible but he battles hard. Some games you watch him play and you can't believe he's not getting lit up.

Yep.

One thing I've been wanting to bring up about the presser... but I've just been too damn busy... was when Gillis was asked about the teams character/heart and how a couple of Canucks had elluded to the fact that not everybody was giving it their all.

He completely dodged the question and babbled on avoiding it altogether.

I wish I could remember it right now so I could quote him. Alas I have six 12 year olds in my tiny place right now celebrating my oldests birthday. I was lucky to get any computer time.

I'll listen to it again tomorrow and post it; really was comical.
