Hawks/CSN Chicago Fire Susannah Collins

They claim it was over her old show Sports Nutz and not her on air slip up. I guess Google doesn't work at 1901 W Madison.

And if you think this decision was not made by McD, you are fooling yourself.

She wasn't an employee of the Blackhawks organization.

She was employed by a company the Hawks own 20 percent of. The move I think about it, the more I think McD was involved.

The Hawks own a piece of CSN Chicago and control who covers them on CSN. A couple of years ago CSN fired a Josh Mora for writing a rumor about McD/ Tallon/ Bowman.

She was just alright at her job, but the reason she got fired was silly.

The Mora thing still stinks the high heaven. Such a shame, as he was the one guy at the station who knew the game.

Does this mean we have to watch Tracey Myers interview the players again? UGH!

Yes, but you don't piss on the guy who really signs your paycheck. If you work for CSN, you are not really a reporter but more of a glorified PR person.

I didn't know about the ownership share. You very well could be right about McDonough. Wasn't he the one who wanted to axe the Ice Crew girls?

Yeah, CSNC was started because the Hawks, Sox, Cubs, and Bulls all wanted some control of the production of their game's broadcasts. They couldn't get that with Fox Sports Net, so they left. Each team owns 20% and NBC Universal the remaining 20.

If it's actually because of the slip in words, that's ridiculous. Hawks should pry Chantel McCabe from the Hurricanes.

So freaking stupid. I'm a bit outraged. This has the Hawks finger prints all over it. They'll now be on the 4th Hawks reporter in 4 years.

I don't like the reason for the firing at all. But she was nothing special to be honest.

Just said on the Score that CSN didn't want to fire her. This came from the Blackhawks

about as ridiculous as firing Denis Savard for starting the season 1-4.

Always be aware of the hidden agenda. They fired Savard because they wanted a veteran coach to handle a rising team.

This isn't similar to firing a coach.

Who cares? she sucks at her job and doesn't know anything about hockey. Those post-game interviews are a joke. maybe they hire a redhead next time to ask stupid questions and run shoot the puck. I guess i can look forward to more totally clever comments about Tracy Myers' appearance in the near term.

She was not that much to look at and agree she didn't know squat about hockey. This particar incident was the last straw in a bunch of cumulative events. Maybe they will hire someone with some hockey knowledge this time. I could careless what sex....just someone with insight and decent questions.

Firing Savard and hiring Q - one of the best coaches in the history of the game - is a bad thing now?
