I saw the tweet and thought it was random.

I guess they don't know they have to sign Nygren soon ?

Bergevin keeps working hard.

What sort of player is Hudon? Another Gallagher-like?

Has a 5th round pick ever been signed by us less than a year after being drafted?

He took a big step forward this season and didn't look out of place in Hamilton at all. Really excited about him.

Wait a minute... Is he of age to be playing in Hammy next year? I was under the impression that CHL players cannot play AHL til they're 20. Did I get that wrong?

Gallagher was signed a year and a bit after his draft.

Signed now for the delivery, hopefully he goes straight to the Habs. Dauphin is very much alike and a center with similar talent, all the Habs need is some protection for the small guys.

Hudon is a bit bigger and a more cerebral player than Gallagher. Hudon's game is similar to Parise, makes smart decisions with and without the puck. Though I doubt he will be as good a player.

They are better off leaving him in the Q for another year then a year in Hamilton. Slow and steady is always better with young players.

How injury prone is he though? I've heard a couple times about him being injured over the course of the season. Serious or...?

He's now listed as 5'11 180 pounds, about Kristo's size, so not that small. I think he was 5'9 when drafted.

It doesn't "waste a contract" until he actually makes the jump to the pros, which he probably won't do un til October 2014.

He's a sniper, similar snap shot to Cammalleri and Kessel.

Good, now hopefully Nygren's signing is announced shortly.

A bit early for Hudon I suppose, but I guess they wanted to reward his solid play with a contract.

Hudon was one of the better prospects I saw this year, period. Injuries could a problem for him, but ******* he's got skill and drive. Love the way he plays. Very happy to see him signed.

Been a fan of Hudon since I heard of his domination at the Hlinka tourney a year or two back. Combined with making team Canada at the WJHC, and unfortunate that he had to sit out. A guy no one talked about, but found ways to make it on the big stage anyway. Means he's likely to big a gigantic steal in the 5th round for us!

He doesn't play like Gallagher, highly creative with the puck, smart and he keeps his feet moving, makes things happen as he knows what to do with the puck and when to do it.

no rush but better to get it out of the way since it doesn't count against the 50 contract limit unless he somehow makes the Habs next year. His contract would "slid" meaning it won't count as going into effect next season outside of making the NHL which of course it would then count.

No it's NHL or back to the Q for Hudon, he can join the Dogs as soon as his season in the Q is over next year.

It's a legit concern as he has had some injury woes already and has a slight frame so it will be something to keep an eye on as he starts moving up the levels in his development.
