Time to trade Craig Anderson?

With Lehner having shown how good he can be at the NHL level now (.940 SV% in his last 20 GP), do you think Ottawa should start exploring their trade options with Anderson given his below average start to the season?

If so, to who, and what should they get in return?

Isles, Flames, or Jets come to mind.

What would the Jets do with Pavelec if they acquired Anderson? He's signed for 3.9 mil until 2017. He's actually been playing pretty well recently too.

NYI and Florida seem like likely destinations for Andy if the Sens do decide to move him. I don't think Murray is any rush to do so though.

Bob Stauffer, the most plugged-in Oilers insider, has made a lot if references that Edmonton will push hard for him in the offseason. And that it won't be big money players going back to Ottawa.

Of Murray can get a return that's better than having a solid goaltending tandem then yes, probably will be tough to do though

The market isn't good for goalies it seems with someone like Miller out there as well. Also one would think that Anaheim is probably willing to move a goalie too. Don't think there will be much of a market for Anderson to be worth moving him. Also he would be a great backup if it comes to that, I think it would be in Ottawa's best interest to keep him this season for sure, maybe move him in the offseason.

I'd love to have Tim Thomas as a backup.

Too premature of a thread, it should be should Lehner be given more starts than Anderson? This will allow the organization to evaluate their goaltender situation and see if Lehner is the real deal

Personally I'd just package him and someone else (Michalek, Cowen or both) and get the best player in the deal.

I had proposed that trio to Edmonton for one of their star wingers (Eberle or Yakupov) before Bryz signed.

1-for-1 I think I'd rather keep him because he wouldn't bring in anyone worth trading him for. Lehner will probably get a raise of about 1.500-2.000 which makes our tandem under 6m... very reasonable for two quality tenders.

If it happens, it won't be until the trade deadline, and that's only if we're certainly out of a playoff spot. More likely scenario is that Anderson gets moved at the draft.

goalies just don't seem to get that kind of return anymore, though i would seriously think about it, or something similar. there would likely be a bit of a poison pill, like dubnyk coming back.

If the Sens are looking for another forward that could play in their top 6 something around Stempniak + for Andersson could work for both teams. Feaster said the other day they are looking for a goalie to fill that #1 spot but he didn't say if he meant from within or not.

Stempniak + what? That would be the kicker. Do the Flames have any young guys in the system that are better than counterpart Sens prospects that they would actually be willing to deal? (Not a jab, a real question, not sure who both teams still have in the pipeline.) It would seem a good place to have sent Broissoitt as part of a package, and I can't see the Flames being willing to part with Gillies as well as him.

I would imagine it would be Stempniak + 2nd + Berra/MacDonald

not sure that would do it.

not sure either of our teams has good enough pieces that we would also be willing to part with.

it may be different at trade deadline, if the Sens are looking to add for the playoffs, but right now they can wait for the right deal.

Pretty terrible trade from the Sens point of view. Doesn't make us a better team at all. Anderson for Smid + Berra/Ramo + Spempniak would be much closer to the mark.

No they should keep him. Nobody knows if Lehner can handle being the #1 right now.

Haven't watched him on the Sens. Just know he played better once traded. Is he struggling? Or has he quit on the Sens too? Or is Lehner just playing that much better?

Probably SOB and a pick instead of smid.

No harm keeping him till seasons end.
I'd def be giving Lehner 1 of every 3 starts to really see what's there

Okay, once again a deal in which Ottawa has zero interest.

Ottawa has sucked. Lehner has been Phenomenal, Anderson has been okay.

Lehner is much better than Anderson. I've been saying this for awhile. I've been holding onto to him on my fantasy team just waiting for him to takeover. If only $$ didn't decide starters.

YES PLEASE TRADE ANDERSON
don't worry Lehner can handle the net by himself, I as a Leaf fan would love to see him gone. The man is the reason for why Ottawa was in playoffs last year, when 1/2 the team was injured... And when Lehner wakes up and dropes his stats, you guys will be where you should be (next to Edmonton)!

Don't be fooled keep Anderson, everything I said was sarcasm, Ottawa and Anaheim and my other 2 teams. (Even though Anaheim's fans really piss me off with their hate.)
