Price/Team/D/All

We have been letting to many goals in the net recently. Some people think that price has been sucking, while others think he has been exposed unnecessarily by the team in front of him (D and O). Still others say it is a combination of both. So, where do you think the blame lies for this recent suckage on GAA?

Awful defense, lack of a good reliable D, awful goaltending, turnovers

That's about it

I don't understand how anybody votes for anything but "all"?

Unless you think "all" means the entire universe or something?

I voted Price because I expected him to be the second coming of Roy; or even a little less, but he has not been giving his team a chance fight. He hasn't been holding the fort like a top 5 goalie should, which is what I thought he was.

I am now thinking that Price is just a regular NHL goalie, run-of-the-mill. But I wanted him to be one in a mill!

His cap hit is that of a one in a mill goalie. I agree that the team in front of him needs to step it up, but he needs to get his act together as well. All great teams start from the crease, especially in the Playoffs.

The real answer is "all" but this is wayyy too obvious and too much of a cliché. IMO, the weakest link is the defense, it has to be fixed at some point.

Depends on the circumstances. One player can screw up and cause GAA to be high if he's bad enough. If you put the average guy off the street in net, the goaltender will be 99% responsible for the $#!^load of goals against. Or if God is in net or any other position the same is true. In more typical circumstances (average team, goalie and D), it's obviously a team sport.

Price needs to step it up imo. Guys like Roy, Brodeur, pull a shutout when the team is playing like ****.

Price has 4 wins in 21 playoff starts since 2008...seriously...

Switch the goaltenders in the series and Montreal would be clinching tonight. Everyone knows in their hearts that's true.

If by defense you mean the 5 guys on the ice in the defensive zone, then to me that's bingo. In zone coverage is where we are failing, every one should be backchecking like madmen in the NHL. Can't blame Price for letting goals on 2-1 and 3-1.

Price has been getting better. The only reason why we let in 6 goals was because after the first 3, Price kinda lost momentum and then after the 4th goal, the team pretty much gave up.

I really expected Budaj to be in net tonight though...

Not true at all. Look at the quality of shots. When's the last time they showed a hilite of Anderson fighting through a screen?

Guys like Roy and Brodeur had Robinson, Stevens, Chelios, Niedermayer, Carbonneau, Gainey, Skrudland etc... in front of them.
