Because he's signed for two more years at $3.8 per ... and regardless of what people think, with the media voting for the Vezina winner, the playoffs will factor into their minds. If Niemi, making that money, wins the Vezina, it absolutely helps us keep Bob to a lesser deal.

The media votes once the regular season ends. Bobrovsky will most likely not win it, (even though he deserves it, along with 2nd place in Hart voting) because he missed the playoffs, and I think he and Niemi will be 2/3 while Lundqvist is #1, but playoff performance is irrelevant. Ovechkin still gets the Hart trophy even though he did not do well in the playoffs.

Yeah, the votes have already been tallied. They just wait to announce.

It's pretty much a slam dunk that Bob is going to win it. so IDK what you're thinking, and Im not trying to be mean, its pretty obvious.

Anyone who has made the jump can say otherwise if they want if it makes them feel better about themselves but if Radulov was good enough or had the stones to make an impact in the NHL, then he would be in the NHL. Period. Money be damned.

If Bob's agent was dumb enough to leverage a KHL offer it'd be the easiest bluff ever called.

Actually its the GM's who vote for the Vezina. Don't know why but they do. Could hurt Bob with 2 West g's and only 1 East. Most things I've read favor Bob but who knows.

NHL 14 Cover Vote. It's a head to head bracket, now in the semi's. it's Bob vs. Taveras.

The way of the dinosaur.

Pinball machines used to be a nickle if I remember correctly, that would also put me in your bracket. Kind of like the aforementioned dinos.

Keep in mind, the dinosaurs ruled the earth for millions of years. We Boomers have lots of time left to be on top!

I have to vote against bob here. Martin Brodeur has been my favorite player for as long as I have followed the sport. Ultimately, this season will probably be his last and with the career he has had, he's ultimately earned every award he has won yet he has never been on the cover of a game.

Bob has been a great story. Brodeur is a legend. But this is a vote. Carry on.

I think you're way overstating things here. When is the last time a non-playoff goalie won it? Hasn't it been decades?

Making the playoffs seems to matter with the Vezina, not a slam dunk.

Im not sure, but if Bob wins it he'll be only the 2nd undrafted FA to win the vezina, and no matter who wins the EA vote they'll be the first goaltender on the cover since 97 when I think it was Roy?

This is why I'm confused, it seems like it would be even more impressive for a goalie to put up Bob's kind of numbers on a non playoff team.

Considering that only 1 of the 2 candidates currently vying to be the cover athlete of NHL 14 currently has a contract to play in the NHL in 2014, the vote is a no brainier.
