I go with Ovechkin IMO. If you ask a mod to edit in a poll for you they will I think.

I'd give the nod to Ovechkin.

I'd vote for Tavares. One of the major reasons NYI made the playoffs and is competing w/ Pittsburgh. Ovechkin wouldn't be a finalist if the voters saw PJay's gif

JT.

If not, Ovy better win it.

Crosby should get the Lester B Pearson, but not Hart.

Crosby and Ovechkin will be close. I'm not sure which one gets it.Tavares is going to way down the list here.

Agreed. Kind of sad that he gets in over Toews or Datsyuk. I guess it doesn't matter like you said though, he doesn't have a chance, and anyone else that would have taken his finalist spot probably doesn't beat Crosby or Ovi anyways.

too bad crosby had to miss the last 10 games or whatever, then it would be a run-away for him

But the fact that they clinched #1 without him, I think gives the edge to Ovie.

At the start, when Ovi was stuggling, his team was dead last in the east at one point.

When he turned it on, his team followed and they won their division.

It's so ignorant to just give Ovie full credit though, the media tries to act like Ovechkin was the only player on the Capitals down the stretch, but Holtby was playing like a Vezina candidate, Backstrom was one of if not the best playmakers in the league, Green was playing his best hockey since 2010, not to mention the team would've been in an even bigger hole if Ribeiro wasn't playing terrific early in the year. Of course Ovie played a part (at least in terms of the resurgence of the skaters), but to ignore the fact that the opposite is also true (which everyone seems to be doing), is willful ignorance.

It's not like the Captials were expected to be bottom-feeders, this is a good team and most had them winning their division before the season started.

The "surprise factor" is what will lead Ovechkin to the Hart.

In terms of division points, 3 of the 4 players at the top were Caps (Ovechkin, Backstrom, Ribeiro). Ovechkin's PPG difference outside vs. inside division was huge this season, but I really doubt the voters went in-depth.

He'd also be by far the worst even-strength forward (26th in ESP) to ever win the Hart.

It should definetly be Crosby.

But I could easily see Ovechkin winning.

The Media likes those types of stories.

Sure, but Ovi is the captain, so it stems from him. When teammates see their captain playing their heart out, they are gunna follow the lead.

I think it's ignorant to ignore the fact that the penguins played just as well without crosby than with him (almost).

Pittsburgh went 8-4 without him. 45% of the points during that streak were from Murray, Iginla, Morrow and Jokinen. All these guys did not play for Pittsburgh when Crosby played. Again, voters probably didn't look into that either.

I guess Bobrovsky doesn't exist to some people.

Ovi being so low in ESP is due to the season's length. He'd move up 6 spots if he had one more point. Let's not act like OV sucks at 5 on 5. When Crosby won the Hart, 61 of his 120 points were on the PP which is 51% of his total points. 48% of Ovechkin's points were on the PP.
