Ovi being so low in ESP is due to the season's length. He'd move up 6 spots if he had one more point. Let's not act like OV sucks at 5 on 5. When Crosby won the Hart, 61 of his 120 points were on the PP which is 51% of his total points. 48% of Ovechkin's points were on the PP.
Crosby was top 10 in ESP that year and also won the Art Ross by a pretty decent margin. Ovechkin couldn't even separate himself from a guy who missed a quarter of the season. There's a big difference.

Also I don't really get the 'due to the season's length' thing. We're judging him on this season, his numbers at even strength weren't stellar this season. The season length is what it is, and Ovechkin's pretty good, but nowhere near Hart-worthy even strength production is what it is.

Despite the injury it should still be Sid. Guy was a force and easily would have won the scoring race

Should be Tavares, will be Crosby.

Threw JT a bone in voting anyway, feel bad that he has no chance.

I think Ovechkin will win, out of the nominees I think Crosby should win, and Bobrovski should have been the one to win it.

Ovechkin. Look at what the Capitals did before and after Ovechkin turned it on in the regular season.

Yeah the voters also saw Ovechkin climbing the even strength ranking with every game played down the stretch and he put up more goals and assists and won more games than Corey perry did in10-11 which famously won him the hart. It's very unlikely Ovechkin loses it with the missed games Crosby had and ovechkins play down the stretch( not due to his team but because he missed a hug chunk of the season) Crosby wins if he had still won the art Ross IMO

The Hart Trophy is awarded to the 'player judged most valuable to his team'. It (should) not be given to the best player in the game.

Crosby doesn't get it this year. As previously mentioned, when he was injured, his team kept rolling. It will be between Ovi and Tavares.

Ovechkin started out horribly and so did the Capitals. Then, he got it going in the second half and so did the Caps...

As for Tavares, if you take him out of Long Island, there's no way they are anywhere near where they are right now - no one can argue that.

I think Tavares should win it, but it will probably go to Ovi
