I'm glad the Blues have home ice. It will be a great test of character to see whether the team can overcome the recent dominance by the LAK. Should be a great series to watch, and the team that wins is going to be a solid pick for the WCF. (I'm expecting at least one upset in the other series, so that Chicago is avoided. Detroit can beat Anaheim....but I think Vancouver probably beats San Jose.)

Well most of you are freaking out but I love the fact we are playing the kings. They are very beatable and home ice is a huge advantage against them. Elliott is back to playing like last year and we are starting to score some goals. I feel like last year we sprinted through the whole season and ran out of gas. This year I feel like we are more rested and ready to match the kings intensity. Blues are the team with something to prove and I think it will show. Lets go blues!

We are going to have to beat them eventually. Might as well start now.

I'm not that optimistic but I just want to see us crush that team. I won't even care what happens in the 2nd round if we do.

A part of me is insanely excited for this series, and the other half is afraid to watch. This is a huge test for us, let's see if we can rise to the occasion.

Got my hopes pretty low for this one. Hopefully it goes better than I'm thinking.

They will, considering they have won 7 straight games over the Blues including last's year playoff sweep.

After what happened last year, this series is the defining moment for a lot of players. It will be fascinating to watch the different individual performances.

We've all seen enough Blues/Kings games to know the forwards are the key to the series. Our defense is on par with LA and I trust Elliott.

The top 9 will either find a way to emulate what the Kings do so well or they won't and they'll get steamrolled and they'll be some massive offseason changes.

That's pretty much the same way I see things, if we get annihilated then it's probably time we made changes anyways.

I think Hitchcock needs to come up with a better game plan though.

Exactly how I feel about this series. This group has to be able to beat the big boys at some point, and if they can't, make the necessary changes.

Hopefully we can completely reverse it on them this time around.

We had home ice advantage last year and got swept. Elliott was still playing like Elliott when we played the Kings and just got his confidence blasted. I'm glad you are optimistic but there is no "advantage" we have. Maybe with the addition of JBo and our new 4th line we can at least win one game.

Our forwards and the best lineup therein will be the difference.

You keep the 4th line together, and sub out one of Perron, Tarasenko, Schwartz or McDonald for Oshie.

We can win this series, but we need to play mistake free hockey. It isn't likely, there are still too many boneheaded plays being made. Blues win 4-3

The Kings have yet to face the Blues as currently constructed, so it's hard to read too much into our recent history together.

With that said, the Kings are a very strong team and I had them tabbed to make the conference finals. If the Blues are going to make it past them, they will have to earn it.

Very interested to see how Hitchcock intends to approach this series from a strategic/personnel standpoint.

Hitch better not have favoritism towards McDonald. If he didn't last year for Arnott he better not have it this year for McDonald. Honestly I don't see a reason why he should even be in the lineup vs LA. He won't take hits anymore and his skill has severely diminished.

Steen-Backes-Oshie
Perron-Berglund-Stewart
Schwartz-Sobotka-Tarasenko
Cracknell-Porter-Reaves

While I haven't had a problem with Leo, I just don't think he is good enough to face LA's forecheck.

JBo-Pie
Jax-Shatty
Russell-Polak

Elliott
Halak

Maybe this time things will be different and if Elliott starts to crumble Halak finally turns beast mode on.
