He was playing much better in Calgary every time I watched this season (20 games or so).

Trying to play out of position, with a guy like Malkin, who has been a total spazz most of the season, isn't easy. I've seen Iggy hit his gaps and Malkin just holds the puck. Crosby will get him the puck in those situations. That alone will improve his play.

This reminds me of how ppl freaked about Neal and Hossa not clicking at first. It takes time and finding the right chemistry.

Yes. He already looked so much better yesterday, and that was only one game without any practice.

And he is producing way more than Neal did when he first got here.

Dude still has 8 pts while being off.

Sid will find him all night tomorrow, guaranteed. And iggy can actually dish the puck, which will be nice to see with sid for once.

It takes a while for chemistry to develop especially when bouncing around in the line-up. He came from Calgary where he played his career a long time and a different role. Given that, he is putting up points and playing well. He will continue to mesh I'm sure.

An aspect of his game that I like is that he is an experienced vet who is disciplined yet stands up for teammates when needed.

I wouldn't compare his and Morrow's game. Just different.

He's been misused at ES despite putting up 8 points. Now that he's in his natural RW should be a lot better. His presence on the LW boards on the PP has been tremendous. Very happy with his play.

Yeah, thanks for pointing this out. Just like every time I see someone misspell Beau Bennet or Simon Depres.

While I've been a bit disappointed in Iginla's play in the playoffs, a lot of that should be square on Bylsma for a]playing him out of position and b]insisting on playing him on a line he doesn't seem to show chemistry with.

I want to see him after a couple of games with Crosby before I judge him too harshly. Hopefully Bylsma realizes that those line combinations (Crosby/Iggy/Dupuis, Malkin/Neal/Kunitz) work and sticks with them.

I'm not worried about him breaking them up. I'm paraphrasing, but in his post game press conference he said something along the lines of, "Moving Jarome to the right.. and Kunitz with Malkin and Neal.. showed an immediate spark... it didn't take long for Sidney and Jarome to start showing chemistry out there, not just on the goal but creating a few chances for us"

All I could do was laugh.

Yeah, I feel most of the same way. We have so much talent and Bylsma is not utilizing it. Iggy is playing out of position and is still doing fine in my opinion but I know in a spot that he is more comfortable in he would do better. Also, the leadership he adds to the team is immeasurable. It clicked for me when I saw Sid get hit and Iggy thought it was a cheap shot so he pushed Sid out of the way and wailed on the guy.

It's too bad the local media didn't have the balls to ask the most obvious follow-up question: "Why did you wait until Game 5 to try these lines?"

I mean, Jesus, Bylsma is now getting "credit" for making these changes. Us lowly, unqualified HF armchair coaches have been talking about those lines pretty much since acquiring Iginla. Yet he's getting credit for making a move that should have been done at the start of the series.

It's the same as Bylsma getting credit for inserting Vitale and Kennedy. We've been screaming for him to do that since the beginning. But suddenly he's a "genius" in the media because he finally did what he should have done games ago?

All this "credit" he's getting is about the equivalent of giving a coach credit for playing Crosby on the first line after he'd been playing Crosby on the fourth line for 50 games.

I like to think that Bylsma secretly lurks on HF, or is even behind one of the many troll accounts that post occasionally

I think people misunderstood what I meant. I meant, "Is the guy telling us it's Jerome joking? Because it's definitely Jarome."

I know his name is Jarome. It's tattooed on my butt.

As long as we move past this series and as long as Iginla is kept on a line with Crosby I think we're eventually going to see a hot goal scoring Iginla who seemingly can't be stopped, I really believe that. It'll just take a little while longer. Remember how lousy Crosby & Hossa were together at first? If we go deep in the playoffs I full expect that Sid and Iggy will be 1 and 2 in scoring.

I don't think this is being stressed enough. He has been in on 40% of the Pens playoff goals.

Good. Nothing to apologize for there if we're talking about someone's value.

He is actually behind every single MAF supporter account. In reality, not a single fan or true board member wants him to ever play for the Pens again.

Not saying it negatively. The Penguins PP has been carrying them at times, and if they continue to operate at 40-50%, it's going to make teams think twice before they put themselves in position to take iffy penalties.

I know Iggy's been a little slow and Malkin has been a little crazy at times but I'm real happy with both of them this playoff on the whole because they're producing points every single game so far. That is more important than anything else they do and the primary reason for their existence on a hockey rink. Not their only responsibility but by far the most important one.

Too low number of samples for me to claim anything so far on that one. He always seems to "collect" his points, but I don't really remember him "making" the great play to do so. He always seems to just be someone who happened to touch the puck last or next to last to me FWIW. Could also be selective memory on my part. PP is definitely better with him out there, but was pretty good prior.

I do notice him losing just about every single 50/50, board or puck battle though. It's not Tanner Glass bad, but more often then not, play is over when puck is passed to Igilna in the Ozone, 5v5.

I still think his place is with TK, and Jussi on a 3rd line. I don't see his legs holding up to 1st line minutes with Sid and Duppers. He will not wear well IMO given 18min/game in the playoffs. He was a great player who's best days are behind him. He can still contribute for sure, but he's not far off Billy G when he was here.
