Definitely the player that stands out the most for the Maple Leafs this series. Whenever we bring up the notion of the team is inexperienced in the playoffs and gaining experience is very valuable, you only need to look at JVR for that statement to be true. JVR with playoff experience in Philadelphia has upped his game for the playoffs and has come to play 100%, I noticed that his physicality and offense is a level above the Leafs players on our roster who have no experience. You can only hope as more games and playoffs come, the rest of the Leafs roster will be able to bring it to that next level that a playoff series demands.

Him and Reimer have definitely been our best players this series.

HM to Kessel.

I agree that JVR has been great and that playoff experience is valuable (obviously). But I dont think JVR is really a good example of that. He was amazing with the flyers in his first playoff run (ie. no playoff experience). He just happens to be a guy who steps up his game in the playoffs - experience aside.

say what u want about the flyers, but those guys know how to win when it counts in the playoffs, im glad he got the valuable experience out of that, if toronto can somehow find a way to win this series, its going to be because of him

Flyers product through and through. This series may be in our favour if some of the other forwards learned a thing or two from JVR instead of trying to get too cute.

I agree that JVR has been one of their best players and his goal he scored in Game 2 was one of nicest ones I have seen in a while, plus it came at the right time when they were only up 3-2.

Absolutely love his game. He's been the same good player, except added a physical, chippy side to his game which I hadn't seen up until now. Looks like a TRUE Power forward now.

Side note, he kind of reminds me of a prime Johan Franzen in the playoffs.

he's been noticeable in front of the net that's for sure and we need his big body and hands there.

Parking his ass in front of the net really helps. Just do that more and more. We need more big guys like him to do this.

Been very impressed by him, been a difference maker, though not sure why he is wasted with 2 guys that have trouble producing, Grabo and Kule.

Would like to see him back with Kessel and Bozak and we roll with Lupul, Kadri and Frattin as our top 6.

3rd line do we try KGM again? Or do we scap this for a new line? Since this line has been awful since the 10-11 season.

Orr, on the 4th line with Komarov and Mcclement.

JVR's great run in the playoffs (7 goals in 11 games) came during his third time in the playoffs.

He had 0 points in 4 games his first time in the playoffs and 6 points in 21 games his second time in the playoffs.

So experience does matter.

How JvR doing?

Hi there Leafs fans, I dont follow the Leafs much but I see that JvR is kinda having a breakout season. Was just wondering how he is doing for your guys? Have he changed his style of play much since coming to the Leafs?

He's been outstanding this series so far.

Went through a bit of a cold streak through the season, but definitely has what it takes to be a top liner imo.

He's been great in the offensive zone. Best player in front and good offensive instincts. But last night in the defensive zone. on every replay, you could see him dogging it. Pretty enraging.

He has 2nd overall skill, and it shows when he wants to try. It's why he's great in playoffs
