Dallas continues the rebuild by acquiring two very solid pieces for the future.

Ottawa makes another addition to their top six forwards, and acquires some futures to make up for the loss in prospects.
Approved.

Anyone interested in any of the following Caps players, hit me up in a PM;

RW Ward (77 OVR GRN), C Ribiero (82 OVR PLY, 89 acc, 90 agi), D Poti (79 OVR OFD, fast)

I'm lookin for a decent 2nd or 3rd line F, preferably a developmental guy. Might consider moving both Schultz (83) AND Poti for a stud DFD.

Just tossed up a Chatzy for people to talk freely amongst each other.

I'll probably set it up to premium in the next few days so everyone can PM each other on there as well!

But for now, its just a much easier way to communicate for just general chat!

Private Message me on here for the password so we don't have any randoms joining!

http://us10.***********/16044850713456

edit: But PLEASE still PM everyone on HFBoards to set up your game times! This is a HFBoards league, and this is where you should mainly try to organize your games. This chatzy is just an extra feature.

...you're seriously going to deal Vanek, Miller, Ennis, and Ehrhoff all in the first block of games?

to

B. Jackman (83, LH-DFD)
M. McKenna (AHL goalie--contract)

to

S. Mason (81, HYB-G, 4.0*)
M. Walker (craptastic contract.)

Flyers get a shutdown, top-4 defenseman and a modest amount of cap relief. Blues get a young starting goalie.

I was a commissioner of a league for 4 full seasons. Accepted ALOT of new members and seen ALOT of people quit. Just my opinion based on months of observation but there are three types of people who quit out of GM leagues...

1) guys who are suddenly legitimately busy and can no longer be active

2) guys who liked the idea of a GM league but end up not being active/interested enough

3) guys who trade away all of the major pieces of their team because they like trading and then when those trades don't work out they bail and leave behind a skeleton team that nobody else wants.

Again not saying you absolutely fit into this mold but based on what I've experienced there's a good chance this is an inevitability

Alright.

Everyone gets three trades and has to keep three franchise caliber players. That should be enough to keep people from blowing up their teams in one or two seasons.

That said, it doesn't make sense for anyone to use all three of their trades in the first block, with no idea of how the season is going to go, with no idea of what injuries you might have to deal with, etc.

I'd strongly suggest that everyone who has used two of their trades hold on to one for at least another block or two. It isn't fair to make this a hard rule--the season has already started, and people might have made different decisions had it been in place--but just think it through. You might want to deal a veteran if you get killed in the sims. Or, you might find yourself in the position of being a contending team when your 1C goes out. Saving a trade for a few blocks just makes sense.

On Miller. You didn't name him as a franchise player, so you are free to move him. That being said, he's the highest rated goalie in the game, so you'll have to get an absolute haul in order for the deal to be approved. If you want to pre-clear a deal with me before posting it, I can let you know whether it is close. If you strike a deal, and we disagree on its merits, I'm happy to open it up to a few of the guys in this league with the most experience to let them weigh in.

Sound reasonable?

EDIT: While this was immediately directed at you, it really does apply to everyone--both on saving one of your three trades, and in the expectations about star player's return in trades.

He's not saying you have, just that it has happened before plenty of times by people. It was more a response to you saying "who cares" about what you do, when in reality everyone should care about what every GM is doing because we don't want a GM to make a team they like but no one else would if they were to leave.

Edit: And what Jack said too lol.
