OK the slash that broke Tereschenko's stick was hard to see, but that fail at the blue line was inexcusable.

You're totally correct! Kovalchuk has had tap-ins after Radulov plowed up the field, so to speak. However they're, those two are the only scorers we have, so I hope they keep doing it.

Too bad about the turnover by Nikulin that made it 2-1, dulling the bright shine of a great period. Still, we look to be in better position than in the last 2 games. Could have really used a save from Bryzgalov on the goal - he has hardly been called on to do anything all day. Russia has to win the 3rd period for placing sake.

it seems like rads and kovi will play 30 minutes today. i don't know what bill is trying to accomplish by playing like that.
btw, nice to see kuz drawing penalties that resulted in goals for each team

Bryzgalov looked totally frozen on that goal, well, it's hard to blame him after an easy period.
Mixing lines made a good effect: Popov's line creates a surprising bit, Svitov line now looks like an actual line (not Soin+Kokarev+"Let's try him here"), and Kuznetsov (thank God) doesn't appear to be rusty. The only regret is that Petrov now is invisible as he rarely has the puck.
However, with all due respect, the Slovaks aren't that much of a challenge as the Finns were, especially on offense.

Why not Stana? He had one bad game but to be fair, the entire team sucked against Latvia.

We aren't going to win too many games with 1 goal per game.

Because Staňa was okay, but nothing special and he wasn't exactly playing against the greats. It's one last chance, so maybe it is time for a bold move, because only a miracle will give us any points in that game. It has worked for Finland and Latvia, maybe it will work for us as well.

We are not going win any more games on this tournament with absolut inability to create a offense. It's not only about burning the chances, it's about total incompetence in every offensive asset of a game.

This! I can count our real scoring chances in whole match on one hand, but I would say that there's big problem with defencemen supporting offence. We always attack with three players against five and our D is deep in middle. Vujtek's obsession with tall D needs to end. They just can't skate (some of them even shot so they're basically useless).

Agree. Sekera is the only one who is capable of supporting the offense, but we are playing him so much that he is making some mistakes every game because of it.
