Mostly cause the league undervalues goaltending. And defense for that matter. Offense is the end all be all for teams. It's really sad because you look at teams like the Flyers or the Penguins and you see what they could be if they gave away some of that overloaded offense for some defense.

I saw someone suggest on the Flyers board that they wouldn't give up Voracek for Doughty. For ****ing Doughty, just cause the guy had one great season. Bernier is completely worth a guy like Couturier, but most people and the league don't put defense and goaltending at the top of their list, despite the fact that most of the time, the team that wins has defense and goaltending.

Talked to Trevor Lewis today and he told me Bernier is getting traded. Take what you want from that.

Not that you guys don't already think that, but still.

Dean Lombardi has confirmed that Bernier will be up on eBay tonight. Starting bid is $1 (no reserve).

Is shipping included? That could be deal breaker for me.

The Los Angeles Kings have talked to the Flyers about trading them goalie Jonathan Bernier, an NHL source confirmed Tuesday.

The Kings have reportedly mentioned Sean Couturier and Matt Read in talks with the Flyers.

At least 10 teams have talked with the Kings about Bernier, including the Flyers and New York Islanders.

As is Matt Read. But Couturier does have the high ceiling. I'd be happy getting either of them in return.

I understand that Holmgren has, and will continue to do idiotic things. With that said, he has been unwilling to deal the likes of Couturier for legit #1 defensemen, I just can't see him dealing him for Bernier.

Toss him Eberly. Tell Homer he is a #1 D Man and that he was the difference maker in the St. Louis series

He can

http://www.rantsports.com/mock-draft...outing-report/

And they shouldn't be upset. They would get a number 1 goalie in return and they have the offensive depth to make up for missing Couturier. They really need to stop coveting every single offensive player they have. You need to give up some things to become a more balanced team.

I just can't see the Flyers moving Couturier, but you never know what Holmgren (or his puppet master, Ed Snider) is thinking.

The TSN panel is a bit more modest in their predictions, naming names like Read or Frattin. I think they're probably the most reliable bunch when it comes to rumors. So let's not be completely disappointed when suddenly we don't get Couturier or Nino and a first or whatever

The video is up on TSN,
http://video.tsn.ca/?dl=main/latest/...00#main/latest

Still, a few weeks ago I was worried we'd have to settle for like a 2nd and a 3rd or something.

I think i'd rather have a couple of picks as opposed to Frattin in a deal with the Leafs, would be more willing to bite the bullet on Read in a deal with Philly though.

At least Frattin would be a RFA next year, I don't like dealing Benier for a soon to be UFA looking at a big raise

That's true. I just don't see Frattin as a top 6 guy, because he wasn't exactly productive in the more offense oriented eastern conference.

dean does seem to love frattin (not sure if he could be moved to lw thou ) i do like reads upside but ufa next year with brown and greene risky move. I actually ( no suprise to anyone i'm sure ) perfer a islander 1st round pick(15) . I think the player we draft would have more upside then read or frattin. Tanner Pearson is ready for nhl action/

Couturier's dad played for the Kings maybe his son would like that too...Look he is 6'3 left handed... was once predicted going first overall, ended up 8th overall... if Kings get him for Bernier, great job by DL... but I believe it will be a draft pick (1st Rounder) and maybe a mid level prospect after all the talking...

I agree, Frattin in pretty much an ideal 3rd line RW, not exactly a need for us. I know it probably won't happen, but I'm wishing for Nino.
