Fun fact: Marcel Rodman played with Eric Staal on Peterborough Petes and led the team in scoring, although Staal was only 15 at the time.

It's his big chance to commend himself for the NHL Draft. He needs to keep it up in the third.

Exactly. I mean, Canada is fortunate that Slovenia isnt motivated for this game so the score is only 3-2 after two period

Not talking about the longest name
Bes current players for Slovenian NT are: 1st line Jeglič (Allsvenskan) - Tičar (DEL) - Sabolič (DEL), especially first two. On blue line there is Mitja Robar (DEL).

Biggest in regard to theirs career and influence are captain Tomaž Razingar (3rd goal) and Marcel Rodman. Both veterans are playing now in 2nd German league, they were part of our first apperance in elite divsion 11 years ago (also goalie Robert Kristan who had terrible tournament for his standards).

If you think about it Canada IS a cold-weather country, so there's really no reason why hockey couldn't catch on there! Water Polo (the Canadian "pasttime") is a great sport too of course, but there's room for a fast-paced entertaining sport like hockey as well!

Cheers!
Canada's at least been keeping it close. The Canadians might be on the verge of one of the biggest upsets in a long time.

I'm actually now cheering for the Slovenia to pull off the monster upset. Anything Russia can do we can do better.

I love seeing Canada losing

I hope they end up winning but it's so nice seeing the other team get so excited and seeing arrogant Canadians eat their words

We need countries like Slovenia to do well for the good of the sport, good on them

yeh i know that the Danish press is notoriously rough on Danish teams that don't bring home gold in these tournaments, especially when the loss is against (no offense!) a 2nd-3rd tier (being generous!) hockey nation like Canada.

I DEFINITELY wouldn't want to be one of the players arriving at the airport in Copenhagen after a humiliating shocking loss like the 3-1 at the hands of Canada! Probably some of the players will be forced to change names, leave the country etc. to avoid harassment from shocked and disgruntled Danish fans!

He already made a good effort against Sweden (59:29 MIP, 40 SOG, 38 SVS, 95.00 SVS%) and is doing a good job against Canada as well. Imo, he will become the third Slovenian to play in the NHL.

Wonder if Canada realizes that hitting the net can improve your chances of scoring a goal.

They will probably reroute the plan to land in Billund (LEGO-land) to avoid the most fan abuse and try to settle things with being generous having group pictures with children to soften the press

blind pass up the middle instead of clearing it out using the boards leads to chances

It's crazy how bad this team is. Goes to show that no amount of talent can make up for garbage coaching. I predict another QF exit coming up.

DO you believe in miracles? A no-name bunch of ragamuffins (the Canadian team) conquering the well oiled Slovenian ice hockey machine?

I hope coach Ruff is channeling Herb Brooks in the locker room before the third period, he's got to get these guys to believe in themselves that they can pull off the upset!

Maybe say someting like "the Slovenian guys put their pants on one leg at a time, just like us!"

Come on now Slovenia, just because you're facing a lesser opponent doesn't mean that you can take your foot off the throttle. Look what happened to Russia.

Meh, the team showed how good it is in the Sweden game and managed to beat the Czechs with average performance.

This game is just meaningless. They're going to play Sweden regardless how this game ends (Switzerland will beat Belarus, no question about it).

Meanwhile Slovenia gives it their all every game.

Sure the result is surprising but if i was playing for team Canada i wouldn't have the heart to score a goal. Might as well give the Slovenians something to cheer for
