Haha, Dubnyk sucks. At least we'll know who our starter is going forward.

Yup... I'm shocked and very dissappointed with how bad Hall has done this tournament. After his great NHL season all he really needed was a strong tournament to get serious consideration for a Sochi 2014 spot.

After playing like hot garbage on international ice I'd be surprised if he's even considered.

To be fair, it's hard to do much playing under 10 minutes per game. But yes, I expected more out of Eberle and Hall.

You place Hall and Ebs above Stamkos and Giroux. I'll grant you that Ladd is perhaps not fit for 1st line duty, but.... what are your options? any bright ideas?

3 goals on 8 shots. It was only a matter of time before the true Canadian goaltending would make an appearance.

unless Hall comes out of the gates flying next year, on a 50 goal pace. I'd say, no for him to Sochi. Just like Evander Kane, speed to burn, but not smart enough to play a big ice game. I'd rather take a skater who may not be as fast, but thinks the game better...
Maybe when Hall is 25, it'll be different...but for now! I'd take a pass on him for Sochi. I've seen enough.
I like Hall, and i have gotten to a lot of disagreements about him with other posters. I do not have him on my team for Sochi when discussing the possible 2014 roster. I had Duchene making my team, and had Jeff Carter instead of Hall when projecting the lines for Sochi. Hall has been a disappointment.

I would make a 5th line and and line up all 5 players infront of Dubynk. Only way to stop the powerful Slovenian team.

Not really sure how this can even be said. Not like Slovenia is a terrible team, and Canada is heavily outplaying them regardless. I find Russia's effort against Austria to be more pathetic... get outshot 2:1 by Austria yet win somehow because you score 50% of your shots on a bad goalie. Will have to see how this one ends up before actually labeling it as pathetic, I would have to think.

I think it's pretty clear that Canada is not able to realistically compete at this level against the top teams; they are just out of their depth.

Hopefully, for the program's sake, they are using this as a valuable learning experience, ie watching how the Slovenian players conduct themselves both on and off the ice, dealing with the media etc. All the little things; that's what the Canadian hockey program needs to move to the next level!
