2-1. See if the Latvian nerves can hold to this. They need all three points.

Sprukts should wear that C. I'm officially forgiving him that "tired" phase of his.

Gudlevskis is still the main reason we won, amazing performance once again. Though Sprukts was great non the less, deserved the best player of the game award.

Goodlevski is such a good goalie. Especially for his age - he'll have a great future.

Congratulations on the win, Latvia.

Congrats all Latvian hockey fans!!! Almost there! Now you need to hope Austria and France don't get any points from their last games and you're safe.

Since 97, we've shown that. Not the first time we've been in similar win or die situations.

That simply scary. We need Bartulis and dare I say Rekis.

France back to ground level after beating Russia.

Looks like Latvia will avoid relegation.

Poor Austria, relegated with 5 points is tough. Unless they beat Russia too

nothing to feel bad for. No point against France and Germany? Yeah, bye-bye.

I did (though its not 100% definite now neither). However you have to realize that many Latvian fans are huge pessimists, losing even one game sometimes makes them believe we're useless and we haven't got a chance. So it wasn't anything new this year neither.

You have to be a REALLY big optimist to hope for that, but then again stranger things have happened in hockey.
