Cody and Gards is a pairing for today's NHL. If you can't skate and pass the puck, as well as be responsible defensively, you aren't a complete package. Good on Cody showing the doubters what he brings to the table.

I'm amazed at Cody Franson's defensive development. When you have a player who can skate well ( for a big guy), solid two-way performance and a physical side, you sign him long. In fact, he is looking like a defenceman with top pairing upside.

Handling top pairing minutes, makes very little mistakes and is just 25 years old. While, I'd like a defenceman who is more steady defensively, Franson, he may be paired with Phaneuf. I still think we need a RHD, but that could change.

We have to keep him. Hopefully long term.

Guy has been hitting like boss, putting up points and playing great defensively.

Absolute stud. Him and Gardiner make a fantastic pairing.

Fraser who?

He and Gardiner have solidified our top-4. Now Nonis must allocate money wisely (ie. letting non-core pieces walk and going with internal development [ie. Colborne and co], and amnesty Liles, Komi) and lock up our young guns (Gardiner, Franson, Kadri, Riemer).

Franson was absolutely spectacular last night. From start to finish. The whole Leafs blueline played extremely well. But Franson really stood out for me.

Went this year from inconsistent D-man, to elite 3rd pairing guy through regular season, to seemingly like a capable 2nd pairing guy these playoffs.

one of the many reasons why Ron Wilson held us back...

Kadri, Franson...
