I personally think he will get in the top 10 at least.
He doesn't play a physical game but he also isn't exactly Gary Roberts when it comes to fitness either, so assuming that he'll be able to play until he's anywhere close to forty years old is not realistic unless he improves his conditioning.

Kessel currently has completed 4 seasons and accumulated 253 points.

987 points - 253 points = 734 points difference.

So to accumulate 735 points to pass Sundin = 9 years at PPG (82 points in 82 games).

Or.
Leaf goals and points by 25

Kessel 119 goals 253 pts
Sundin 97 goals 224 pts

From 26 to 36 sundin played 5 full seasons generally averaged 75 games.

As far as stats sundin had

1 41 goal season
1 37 goal season
8 28-32 goal seasons

From 26 to 36 sundin had

2 80 pt seasons (83 top)
8 73-78 pt seasons.

Mats was a great player regardless of how he left. But as far as points go, all of those totals would be in range for Kessel if he played 10 more seasons with the leafs. I would think at least for the next 5 years or so he should be averaging 35-45 goals and 80-90 pts. That would be a healthy lead

Woops I thought Sittler was up top my apologies, I guess the list I looked at was outdated?

The only problem I can see with Kessel is his production might start to slip as he gets slower. Right now he uses his speed to great separation from defenders. If he starts to lose a step he'll have trouble flying down the wing and taking a snapshot like he normally does.

I don't think skating speed will ever be a factor, however the odds he spends the next 9 years in Toronto to eclipse Sundin's totals while scoring at a PPG pace to do it is. IMO

This might be a bit OT,but, how's the Kessel trade looking now.He had 6 points in 7 games against his nemisis.

.Seguin has 4 points in 15 games and Hamilton has been a healthy scratch most of the playoffs.

looks like the Leafs won the trade after all. Thanks BB.
