Intangibles. West coast style.

The Kings still get away with so many picks.

Yeah, I'm not liking the direction the NHL is headed. I'm not sure if it's (just) incompetent officiating or if there's been an active decision to return to the dead puck era.

The Sharks/Queens thread isn't such a love fest anymore for some reason. Oh and they called us an embarrassment to California hockey. Funny how winning the Cup before either of them is an embarrassment, it seriously keeps me up at night with how embarrassed I am.

I'm with Paul on this one. Everyone has these amazing intangibles which makes them exempt from fault if they slip. No one mentioned how Kopitar failed to score for a 20 game stretch going into the playoffs.

Kopitar is becoming extremely overrated right now. It's not enough to just play good defense when you're supposedly the 1c. He's getting worked by Thornton.

I believe this would be the third year running he's had a goalless streak of that length.

I expect injuries to be an excuse. Nevermind that Getzlaf was playing injured, and still managed to produce. I think Kopitar suffers from the Bobby Ryan syndrome. It isn't about stats, it's about highlight reels and word of mouth.

Interestingly, the exact opposite seems to happen to Getzlaf. They hear about how lazy and inconsistent he is, and take it as fact.

This seems to be an interesting case of the stats being tossed aside, because they don't support what some assume.

Funny thing is that Kopitar and Ryan are good friends. No wonder they have the same issues.

The most interesting thing about Kopitar to me is that he looks really unhealthy, almost junkie like, I would never think "this is an world class athlete". And then you see him play .

So, Kopitar - Ryan good friends. Aren't Perry and Penner good friends too?

I think it's Pens and Getz.... while it's Pears and Doughty.

Tortorella surely has to be let go this offseason. They need a coach that can get offensive results out of star players and that doesn't run such a terrible system in general.

I'll be shocked if Tortorella is employed this Saturday.

That was a very borderline too many men call that led to the tying goal.

They was a nice f-bomb from Torts they caught on TV.

Never turn the mic on live when Torts is around. Can't wait to see Roy next season.

So if Chicago loses to Detroit does that mean the intagibles of Toews are valued at a lesser amount than previously? And to what extent?

Unless Chicago somehow claws back into this the Bruins are my only hope at the stopping the Pens and the winner of the LA/SJ series. Detroit can't keep this up for another whole round can they?
