Do we resign Zeus for 2013-14?

I'm totally ok with a rotation of 2nd line centers next year of Bolland, Pirri & Handzus

Give Pirri a shot or bring an upgrade. Zues is a stop gap bandage at best.

Yup. Down the middle they'll go Toews-Bolland-Shaw-Kruger and Pirri will get a shot at bumping Bolland down to the 3rd line with Shaw going to wing.

Trade Bolland and use his money on someone who plays.

I like Zus, but I'd really prefer to see Pirri get his shot- it's overdue IMO. I think Pirri is also better from a cap perspective.

I know he led the AHL in scoring and all that jazz but I thought Leblanc looked better than pirri

Obviously small, but what I noticed about Pirri in that game against Blows is that he pulled up a couple of times rather than drive to the net which is kind of odd for a guy looking make a splash. That will not get him a job with the big club so hopefully he is more willing to muck than he showed.

The only time both pirri and leblanc played in the same nhl game. I know its small but its just my personal opinion that leblanc showed more. Honestly, I'm just glad we have some completion for the spot in the future

NO, more important players to sign especially considering Pirri and LeBlanc should both get a shot next year.

Nope, don't resign him. Been great depth this year though, no doubt. Need to allocate more money to trying to resign bicks, steady leddy, krugs, and stally.

Anyone remember how many fans were ripping the trade by saying how awful he is and how we gave up a pick for him and didn't go for the second line center instead? He hasn't hurt us, as predicted.

I have no problem keeping Handzus solely as a fourth line center/thirteenth forward but I'd prefer not to play him on the second line. We've been getting away with it so far these playoffs and he hasn't been too bad but I don't expect us to be able to get away with it deeper in. He'll be exposed soon, especially by better competition.

I expect he'll only age more going into next year so I'd rather see if Pirri/McNeill/LeBlanc can make it. Pirri deserves a chance for that second line spot. We've been patient with him and it's paid off judging by his AHL year. Either those guys who hope Bolland is better.

Keep Handzus for the fourth line or press box but not for anything more. Knowing Q, that won't happen though. People were saying he'd play him on the second line when the trade was made. Sure enough, it happened. He'll be cheap to re-sign though. If we get our first priorities out of the way, I wouldn't be opposed to giving him $1M-$1.5M for a year. No more than that.

I don't think Bolland will be back next year. I'd like to see him traded at the draft for the picks we gave up to get Oduya (2nd and 3rd). If Handzus comes back, it will be in a depth role like Mayers. One of the kids will be 2nd line center next year.

You nailed it. I agree 1.5m is all they can afford to pay him and it would be on the 4th line.... If he plays 3rd line ok but Pirri I agree should get every chance at the 2nd line next year.

I'm perfectly fine with Toews, Shaw, Krüger, LeBlanc, Pirri and Bolland down the middle. Zeus is fine as rental, don't think there is a need to keep him

I think we have enough young guys coming up to fill our whole at center. The money spent on Handzus, who is ideally a 4th liner could be better spent elsewhere.

I don't really see it as necessary to bring him back. Certainly not as a top-9 option. As stated, he's been a nice stopgap but with options in the system chomping at the bit for a shot I think you go that route. If he wants to take a friendly deal to be a fourth-liner/depth guy, look into it. Anything other than that would be a a misuse of resources.

Here's how I see the C's next year

Toews
LeBlanc
Bolland
Shaw

Kruger - takes a W spot
Handzus - let go
Pirri - in the AHL
