The best player to never win a Cup is Dionne, bar none. Bathgate won a Cup with the Leafs in '64 and Esposito was a goalie for the Habs in '69. After Dionne, I'd take in no order, Statsny, Perreault, Park, Sittler, Ullman. Goulet also never won a Cup as a player. Also Hawerchuk is definetly there.

Not sure how that works actually. He did play 13 games in the regular season but didn't even dress for the playoffs. The Habs goaltending duties were split between Vachon and Worsley.
I don't believe his name is engraved on the Cup at all.

Anyone know?
At least the NHL Official guide and Record Book (the latest I have is 2003 edition) lists the name of Tony O in the roster. In the retired goalie index he also has a 1 cup to his name.
Don't remember now, but's according to that mentioned above, his name should be on the Cup.

Thanks. I thought you had to at least be dressed for the playoffs to be included.
I stand corrected. Technically anyway.
Therefore he is the best goalie without a Stanley Cup earned by his play. Or something like that.
1. Marcel Dionne
2. Brad Park
3. Adam Oates (can`t believe nobody`s mentioned him)
4. Peter Stastny
5. Jean Ratelle (another guy I can`t believe no one`s picked)
6. Mark Howe
7. Gil Perreault
8. Darryl Sittler
9. Pat LaFontaine
10. Bernie Federko
