Yeah, I thought that would have been a roughing on Quincy only. Considering the circumstances though, this late in the 3rd, just let them play. That goal should have counted.

Actually, now that I see the replay, yeah, that's dueling minors on Quincy and Saad. Still though, let the play finish.

horrible call. it had nothing to do with the play around the puck at all and it didn't give either team a scoring advantage. after all the non-calls that haven't been called then this? walkom is a dumbass

Agreed. I mean there was 1:47 left in the game and the Quincey/Saad shenanigans were behind the play. Just let them finish and forget the scrum next to the bench. Tough, tough break but Chicago, but not all is lost if they manage to score in OT.

Can't. If the ref was going to call the penalties on both, he has to blow the whistle the second either team touches the puck.

Good lord Keith Jones... It's not a "wrong" call. If you want to ***** about penalties not being called, fine, but that's a penalty. Would most officials let it go, yes. Walkom reffed a lot of the Kings/Blues series and they let them play so long as the rough stuff was around the puck.
The problem to me once again is consistency. You watch Chicago fly into Howard and call nothing, and then with under two minutes two guys have taken each other out of the play and now you call a penalty? Make up your minds. Interference, hooking, roughing, etc., is going on all over the ice.

I mean do you want to call a tight game or let them play? It's just frustrating as a fan. The refs are too noticeable and they need to be better, bottom line.

There's no "fix."

The ref blew the whistle, so the play is dead. The ref can't know that a goal is about to be scored when he blows the whistle. Dead play, sux to be a Blackhawks fan.

He's got balls. You have to be confident when you make a call like that.

I still see the Hawks winning anyways.

Calls fine. People are just freaking out because of the goal... No goal if the plays dead the moment you touch it.

It's not like a PP is going to decide the game.....

Completely agree.

It was obviously matching roughing minors. One guy throws punches while the other gets body-slammed and loses his helmet. This is only a story because of the coincidental goal. Hell The ref would have normally been doing the teams a favor opening up the ice 4 on 4.

You just know a makeup call will be made at some point in favor of the Hawks. Walkom will try to right his wrong that way.

If the Hawks lose, will it be safe for Steve Bartman to return to Chicago?

Has there been a multi-overtime game in the playoffs this year?

Considering how bad the Cubs suck nowadays and how critical this call could be, maybe.
