After you're done, on the bottom of the page is a green button that says "Publish Roster" which will open a small window with a few buttons, click the one that says "View Roster" then just copy and paste (CTRL + C, CTRL + V)

Yep, though with how the bonus cushion works it doesn't matter much. In fact it's probably easier to count it as simply rookie max is 925K IIRC, with bonuses factoring in after the fact.

Yes, I would agree that Nichushkin will want more but I did his salary based off of what I saw other people paying him in their rosters

He will get the highest cap hit, but there is a bonus cushion and his max base salary will be under $1 million

I realize people tend to value picks/prospects more than actual players too often on these boards, but I kind of view Ruutu as almost untradeable right now given his injury last year, his surgery again this off-season, his $4.75M salary, and his NMC.

Also, I don't think McBain will have as much value as some think. First, JR made it known he's trying to trade him. Second, McBain was a scratch to start the last two seasons in lieu of defensive studs like Jay Harrison, Bobby Sanguinetti, and Joe Corvo and struggled pretty badly this year. Thirdly, he's a UFA after this coming season so that will lesson his value as well.

I don't see any way Edmonton would even consider that deal.

By cushion, do you mean that when factoring in bonuses you can go over the cap a bit?

I tend to agree on Ruutu not having much value (Jokinen had zero and was healthy) but I think McBain could still fetch a 3rd round pick or be a decent throw-in in a larger deal. Not for Edmonton's first though.

Yes, there is some mechanism where you can be over the cap due to potential bonuses. I'm not sure the exact details though. 99% of the bonuses are generally unobtainable.

Exactly, just not sure what the penalties are if the team ends the season over the cap due to said bonuses. Not sure if that's really scripted out anywhere.

SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,778,333; BONUSES: $1,347,500
CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $869,167

1) Trade Jeff Skinner + Victor Rask to NYR for Marc Staal + Brian Boyle + Dylan McIlrath
-If NYR jettisons Brad Richards they need Center help and scoring. Skinner provides the scoring for the long run and Rask provides Center depth. Marc Staal comes back, to complete the set and transfer some of Carolina's Forward $$ to D (needed), plus one year of hulking Brian Boyle and a great pure shutdown defensive prospect in Dylan McIlrath
2) Trade McBain for a 3rd
3) Draft Barkov, as I think TB will go Nichushkin and NSH won't pass up Drouin
4) Sign Brad Richards to 2 years, $3.75 million per contract after his buyout
- Playmaking Center that J. Staal and Ruutu need. Meanwhile Richards becomes one of the highest paid players in the NHL due to his NYR buyout and additional salary (lol).

Top-6 probably matches best in the league. 3rd and 4th lines become more traditional NHL grinding lines that are tough to play against but might be able to score every now and then. Barkov works his way up the lineup, getting plenty of pp time, and eventually replaces Richards when his contract expires. The D is vastly improved, M. Staal/Faulk (all around great), Murphy (pure offense) and McIlrath (pure defense) anchor the team for the next 10 years.

Trade away for draft picks or prospects...just to free up salary

Pitkanen
McBain
Peters

Jiri Tlusty ($1.600m) / Eric Staal ($8.250m) / Alexander Semin ($7.000m)

Ryan Murphy ($1.313m) / Michal Rozsival ($2.000m)
Marc-Andre Bergeron ($1.000m) /
GOALTENDERS
Cam Ward ($6.300m)
Dan Ellis ($0.800m)

Chipchura...grit, strong face-offs and PKer
Ference...steady vet D
Rozsival...steady BIG vet d playing 20min a night for CHICAGO
MAB...PP only...he was the only player on the team would could skate the puck into the O zone and set up the pp

Forwards will score enough goals and this D core will do a much better job keeping the puck out and transitioning the puck

Nichuskin is a right wing, Nash a center. But I think this is the most realistic proposal you have posted. 3 dimes, no quarter addition.

Also, if Brad Richards is bought out, I could see him coming here. He mentioned that this was one of the places he wanted to go in FA, and (more importantly) he can lay low after the media circus in New York.

Agreed on Richards. If JR can find some way to add him that is a must. Richards is the playmaking Center this team needs and he would come cheaper given he will still make at least $5 million a year from NYR. Center Richards with some combo of J. Staal, Skinner, Ruutu, (Nichushkin/Barkov/Drouin), Dalpe, etc. and you are going to see a lot of secondary scoring.

At $3-4 million per year (2-3 years) it could be one of the better JR buyout bargain bin pickups of all time.

Wings fan coming in peace.

Where do you guys see Nicolas Blanchard and Kevin Westgarth next year? Does one find a roster spot and the other gets shipped out or sent to Charlotte, or do both have roster spots?

Most likely Blanch will be given an inside track to a 4th line spot in TC. Westy will be the 13th forward that gets a number of games where someone that brings some heavyweight ability is needed.

He has a degree from Princeton doesn't he? Ivy League doesn't give out athletic scholarships, so he had to make the team on his academics, then also be good at hockey.

cap space in that would be more like 2.4 million since only 950K (assuming rookie max) for Drouin would be the actual cap hit that's not covered under the bonus exemption.

Instead of Scuderi, we could trade for Edler then
