Jets at the WCs

Apparently Trouba has been invited to the US tryout camp. Anyone know if any other Jets will participate?

Ladd maybe? Byfuglien? Wheeler?

apparently Kane's hurt and won't be attending

Sounds like Ladd will be getting an invite. Wouldn't be surprised to see Wheeler and Byfuglien go for the US.

Really excited to see if Trouba can make it. He was amazing at the WJCs and he could repeat here. Plus, get his some experience playing with Buff.

I would imagine Pavelec, Trouba, Bogosian, Wheeler, Ladd get invited and play...but we'll see.

I REALLY hope Trouba plays...have only seen him in the WJC and a couple clips here and there during his regular season play at Michigan.

That would be interesting. Or if Bogosian made the team and was able to play, they could pair them together.

Kane is not going because of INJURIES, I wonder what INJURIES they are? Nice to see that Jacob Trouba will be going, I think he will be on the team.

Team USA doesn't have a WC "camp" in the terms of tryouts, it's just to practice, so Trouba is either on the team or he has a conditional spot pending the resolution of invites to guys like Yandle, Byfuglien, Goligoski, Bogosian (if health is cleared), etc. Most likely the latter at this point.

Team USA already has six defensemen, so Trouba is probably a long shot. Little Timmy Stapleton is one of the seven forwards already named though!

EDIT: OR maybe Trouba has already been invited...

Is khasakastan in it? Antropov expressed a desire to play for his national team again.

Just got back from MTS

Trouba was invited.
Slater says he is unlikely to get invite due to only playing 28 games this year
Ladd hadn't heard anything
Bogosian says first priority is being healthy for Jets next season
Kane is not going. Injured.

Will have all on site in a bit

I'm pretty sure one of the injuries is his wrist that's been bothering him the last few months. I think he's battled through a couple more injuries than anyone on this site will give him credit for. Rest up and get ready for a big year next year Kaner.

Another name to maybe throw out is Mark Stuart for team USA, he was their captain a couple WC's ago.

Pavelec is confirmed as starting goalie for Czech republic, nothing surprising.

From today: Evander Kane talking injuries said he had a wrist injury & some nerve damage in his lower leg/foot. Required work before every game to play.

That's terrific news!

He'll get to play games with the pros which will get him ready for camp next season.

But I thought he was TERRIBLE??? Why isn't Neuvirth or Vokoun the starter?

Didn't Pavelec win the tournament MVP or something recently in this?

Yea Stapler was invited which is great. I am sure he would love playing with Wheels again (If Blake goes). He had a big year in the KHL and signed a very nice contract with one of the top 3 clubs for next season.

Glad he is doing so well..........we missed him on the PP this past season.

I'm sure this was sarcasm but both of those goalies are playing in the playoffs right now or Vokoun probably would have been asked to be the starter.

Yeah failed attempt there since both those goalies are on playoff teams.

I don't think he got the MVP for the WHC. Wasn't it some pre-season tourny in Europe or something. He wasn't even on the team last championship. He declined the invite iirc.

Hahah, I forgot about the NHL playoffs already. That's what you call moving on.

I see he has won a gold and bronze in the tournament. And an AHL championship. Not bad. I guess that confirms what we all know - that he is capable of getting hot and performing at a high level. Unless those Czech teams were stacked, which I kind of doubt.

Judging by Wheeler's interview with Rick Ralph earlier today it doesn't sound as if he'll be going to the World Championships. He left immediately to play in Germany right after his wife had their son and it sounds as if fatherhood is now his most pressing issue.

Nevermind, now I see he wasn't even the starter in 2010. Vokoun appears to have been. I could have sworn that he had been.

Buy him out, he's garbage.

Are you serious or just trolling? He's terrific goalie. In 2010 he was young and it was still Vokoun years. In 2011 when Czech republic finished 3rd he was the best goalie with Viktor Fasth. That means since 2011 and in every other important tournament in future Pavelec is the Czech starter, doesn't matter if there is Vokoun or not. And by the way Vokoun retired from national team in 2010.

Pavelec is number one goalie in Czech republic and it's well deserved. He's great and you should be glad to have him on the team. His prime years are ahead of him.

That was my article

Kazakhstan already played in the Division 1 Worlds where they promoted for next year along with Italy.
