I hate myself for suggesting this. But it solves a lot of culture issues and adds offense to the team in one fell swoop.

To Van:
Eriksson
Van 2nd

To Dal:
Burrows

On second thought this looks terrible.

If you look at the capgeek calculator you'll see how bad Dallas is without Eriksson.

He's not capable of driving them for more than 2/3rds of a season anymore, tops. And each injury reduces his contribution and ability down the line, hence the view that now is the time to convert him into a younger player + depth pieces. I see why people here are reluctant to move him, but I don't see him as irreplaceable, not when teams are dealing the likes of Nash, Gaborik, Richards on a regular basis...

Looks like a good excuse to dump one of Ballard/Booth.

One of those plus two or three of Gaunce/Corrado/1st might be enough, who knows?

So with a lot of Rangers fans suggesting that Brad Richards may be amnesty'd this summer, it's something to think about as a possibility. Obviously there had been some interest in Brad Richards here before (different GM, etc.) but still something.

He truly has looked dreadful this year and he may very well be 'done'. But if he could get any of his game back in shape, he'd be exactly the sort of top-6 point producer we could use. With that contract, he is absolutely 100% wouldn't touch with a hundred foot pole material...but signed at a more reasonable cap-number and with a more reasonable (read: SHORTER) term, i'd be tempted to roll the dice on a change of scenery and 'normal season' rejuvenating him enough to be worthwhile.

Would also help to neutralize Ron Maclean's anti-Canucks/anti-Burrows bias.

I kinda suspect Richards will get the benefit of the doubt for next year to rebound before being slapped with an amnesty buyout. But if he is bought out this summer...it's worth thinking about imo, despite the risk of us being saddled with yet another bad contract in the Ballard, Booth mold.

When you go 1-10 in your last 11 playoff games, all bets are off.

To Dal- Edler, Booth
To Van- Eriksson, Rights to Fiddler

To Col- Burrows, Schroeder
To Van- Stastny

To Fla- Luongo
To Van- Kopecky, Goc

Sedin Sedin Eriksson
Higgins Stastny Kesler
Kopecky Goc Hansen
Weise Fiddler Kassian

Hamhuis Bieksa
Garrison Tanev
Veteran Corrado

Schneider

I offered 2 of Gaunce, Schroeder, Tanev and Corrado plus our first, Dallas's choice, and it was mixed, like split right down the middle.

I was thinking about this yesterday watching the Rangers game. It would be tough to offer more than 1yr for 3 or 4 million, but I think that is what it would take.

No interest in Stastny. And Florida would have no interest in Luongo.

Stastny hasn't played with good wingers in Colordao for a few years. When he does, he produces. Look what he did for Chris Stewart. If Gillis can pry Stastny out of Colorado he could even make a pitch for Stewart - as I don't think he plays in St. Louis next season.

IMO Florida wouldn't have any interest in Luongo if they had to deal quality youth for him. If they get him for a song, I would say it's something they look at.

We can't afford Stewart as well as Stastny.

Leaves 400k to fill out two roster spots. We're much better off targeting a winger for Kesler than a centre to move Kesler to wing anyways. And Florida isn't going to sit Markstrom as a backup for the next 5+ years.

With his cap hit, he wouldn't get any better wingers here (unless Kesler gets moved).

You would bring in Stastny to play with Kesler. We can't keep putting tweeners like Higgins/Booth/Hansen/Raymond on the 2nd line and hope Kesler can carry them. Stastny's strong two-way game and pass first style is badly needed on that 2nd line IMO.

Teddy Purcell is another guy I would look at for that role.

If I was good at photoshop I'd have Kesler leading a charge from the hospital/pressbox.

BEASTMODEEEEE!!!!1111

I like Kesler as player when he's healthy and not re-enacting tumbleweed.gif but the guy gets the most praise out of any player I can think of for nothing other than 6 (well, 5 and 2 periods) post season games and 2 really awesome seasons 2 years ago.

This fanbase is almost as obsessed with TRUCULENCE and COMPETE and SWAGGER as Burke is.

This is glorious. I have never seen or heard anything so perfect in my life.

Someone needs to make a compilation of Kesler highlights to this.

Nash and Gaborik are one dimensional players. Richards won a cup with LA and was solid in the playoffs while the Flyers are a non playoff team.

I think I am in the majority of Ranger fans who 100% believe Richards will be gone at the end of this season. He has been dreadful. Slow, passive, weak, bad on face-offs, bad on the PP.

If I were you, I would stay far away.

On another note, any chance the Rangers-Canucks can get together on a MDZ for Kassian type deal?
