Yeah, actually. Sorry if it's a little late and all, but there's a list of the top 3 as well as 2 others to watch. Other than that, I can't help you out...

By popular consensus it seems everyone is high on Hunt at this point to be the next big WHL star and top 5 NHL pick...Hopefully he falls to #4 and Spokane gets him.

Couple of names I thought were missing from this list: Michael Stone, Winnipeg; Brian Sommers & Jordan Rowley, Edmonton; Travis Statchuk & Evan Reifferscheid, Naicam; Joel Danyluk & Kurtis Decker, Yorkton; Tony Oak, Moose Jaw, Dieter Gillanders, Swift Current; Juravinski, P.A.; Cailen Musselman, Tisdale; Shayne Neigum, Kindersley. Probably a bunch more but I just sort of glanced over the list

Calgary's Phillip Gervais is one guy I'm very excited about. Having seen him in action at the Team Alberta Cup, I can tell you that he has WHL size, a WHL shot, and WHL creativity. Matthew MacDonald, another forward from Calgary, will find his way into the Dub one way or the other. I'd be surprised if a team didn't take a chance on him late. Off the above list, Shawn Ostrow is a guy that does a lot of the small things right, but never really jumps out. He's a mammoth d-man, though.

I'm thinking the first two teams had information he was going to commit somewhere else. As Prince George would not have interviewed him, they probably didn't know, and took a chance on him.

He's a bit of a risk, coming from a single-A team. But everything I've heard about him made it sound like he's proven himself against higher-level competition pretty conclusively. The Cougars may have themselves a steal. Add him to Ryan Kerr from last year, and that's a pretty good nucleus to build around. Wonder how they'll screw it up?

By trading Ryan Kerr to Spokane?

For anyone who's interested, here's a link to a game report I wrote for a Calgary/Calgary matchup at the Alberta Cup. Gervais, MacDonald and Ostrow are among some of the names mentioned.

Colton Teubert was the sure fire number one pick in this draft not surprising that hunt wasnt taken first.

one steal that still remains out there is Johnathan Toews little brother.....everyone scared to take him because of his big brothers antics....first round talent not taken mid third.

According to whom? Hunt was the guy most people had going #1, and ISS had Kyle Beach first. I don't remember anyone predicting Teubert as the top pick.

Any of the scouts that I had talked too all mentioned that Teubert was the 1 pick for sure....everyone sees him as a surefire Franchise type Dman.

I heard he was a sure fire #1 player, but not the first pick. I figured it would go Hunt, Beach, Teubert, Prokop, Tendler...and Tendler fell all the way to round 2. Interesting stuff. Toews will go here soon...

really hoping toews falls to the wheatkings with their pick in the 4th.....he will be a helluva steal if he ends up playing in the dub.

Swift Current fans should very happy with their picks in the 3rd round- Nicholas Navratil and Philip Gervais. Navratil is a towering defender who isn't shy about playing physical. Gervais, as I said in a previous post, has great size, great shooting ability, and great moves.

Kamloops selected goaltender Daylyn Flette in the 3rd round, a large goaltender with fine technical skills. He moves very well laterally and has a fairly good glove hand.

Lethbridge chose my dark horse, Steven Murray. His biggest asset is his patience, both with physical abuse and scoring. There's not much a team can do to make him do something stupid. Lanky movement and consistency are two areas that could use polishing.
