Dammit, missed this game! It looks like it was a crazy game from the comments alone.

No, that would still be Kiira Korpi.

Or Jared Spurgeon. Not sure.

Either way, a great win after, um, slightly lackluster effort in losing the lead.

They did it the hard way, but they did it - ****in' Finland!

And Slovakia - all the creds are to you!
You were not a easy to beat in anyway that's for sure.

But all in all, Finland, with a C-3 team, did what they have to do. No more or no less.

Coz, even with a team like this - Finland are on the top of the world. The hockeyworld that is. Top four.
And they showed it in this match; that even the so called second rating Finns are pretty, pretty good!

Bring on Canada in the semifinals - and they will have a real go!

Last year Kukkonen was out there with a few secs left in the QF and he iced the puck with just one second left and they had to take another faceoff in our zone. So it's not like the other choices are that enticing either.

Congrats to Finland. We lost this game during 1st period. Very good match. Good QF. QF seems like our limit again. At least we weren't butchered like Russian and lost after good effort.

One more time, congratulations to Finland!

That's the proper Finnish attitude! I mean pretty much every team in the tournament could kill those hopeless losers. B-group is the right place for this D-team of ours, not a bloody semi-final. It is a crime against humanity that they get to go to Stockholm! We are really a pretty bloodyminded lot, I have to say, maybe that's actually one reason that they, in fact, are going to Stockholm...

Slovakia missed their 3 best players in Hossa, Gaborik, Chara... probably a few more good ones. Where's Halak?

How can this nameless team be so obnoxious and then totally **** their pants the next second? I wish there was an ******* on the team who could bring these idiots back to earth as well as make them believe it's actually okay to play even when you're leading by three goals or when your opponent is obviously inferior.
You mean a Koivu (M or S)

Yes, a real captain is what this team lacks of, but this is becoming even more interesting now - the pressure is off the guys now, they have made it to the medal games and the Globen has been a great rink for the Finns before.

Forwards and goaltending was not a serious issues this year. Defense..well, that's another question On the other hand Chara, Halak and Budaj are not exactly great on big ice.

Yes, you could say that. There's no way Mikko would've tolerated the kind of attitude Kontiola's line has been playing with for most of the last two games and at times even before that. I don't think they would've even started playing with that attitude in the first place if he was here.

I was hoping Jalonen would recognize the situation and nip it to the bud, as it's obvious there's no individual on the team who can do that, but it doesn't look like it. He also couldn't stop the turtling although he had all the time in the world during the intermission. The kind of obnoxious floater attitude displayed by these guys is very un-Finnish and sickening to watch. We'll see what happens on Saturday but that attitude does not bode well. At all.

They haven't really had much external pressure even before this, because nobody expected anything from them. If they put pressure on themselves, then it's a different story, but nobody outside the team expected much even before this.
