Top 10 Mighty/Anaheim Ducks of all time?

What is your top 10 list in Anaheim Mighty Ducks/Ducks history, take success/stats/wins/duration with the team/etc. into account.

Selanne (duh)
Giguere
Kariya
Niedermayer
Pronger
Getzlaf
Perry
Rucchin
Andy Mac
Pahlsson

Edit - Getzlaf can move passed Pronger in my eyes very soon if he keeps it up for another year or so.

Pretty sure Trnka is the clear number one in this case.

In all seriousness:

Selanne
Giguere
Niedermayer
Getzlaf
Perry
Pronger
Kariya
Beauchemin
Pahlsson
Rucchin

Somewhat related - I just noticed Getzlaf is now tied for 2nd in franchise assists. It's not going to be long before Kariya no longer is in 2nd place for all of Anaheim's offensive records.

I didn`t payed a lot of attention in 90`s and started to like the Ducks since 03 playoffs (mostly because Ozolinsh and maybe Giggy) and i payed more attention only from late 08/09 season, but i try to make y list here:

1. Selanne
2. Giguere
3. Getzlaf
4. Perry
5. Pronger
6. Niedermayer
7. Pahlsson
8. Beauchemin
9. Salei
10. Ozolinsh (gotta have him here)

This list basically doesn`t include anyone from he 90`s (exept Teemu) since i actually doesn`t know that much from that era (those years wasn`t very succesfull).

From past years i also like Beleskey and Lydman, but they play pretty minor roles to be included, imo. These lists should be made by polls, but i`m sure we recently had one.

1. Selanne
2. Kariya
3. Giguere
4. Niedermayer
5. Getzlaf
6. Perry
7. Pronger
8. McDonald
9. Rucchin
10. Pahlsson

HM: Hebert, Beauchemin, Kunitz, Koivu, Visnovsky.

I don't rank Pronger as high as some others, simply because his stint was rather short in Anaheim. Therefor, Getzlaf and Perry have surpassed him imo. Pahlsson isn't one of the ten best, but his importance to the team defenitely earns him a spot.

Ozo was one of my favorite players back then that I got the black and purple jersey that said Anaheim with his name and number on it! Funny character.

1. Teemu
2. JS
3. Getz
4. Perry
5. Scotty
6. Beauchemin
7. Herbert
8. Kariya
9. Rooch
10. Hiller

I may not like the traitor, but he does have a place on the top 10 until years pass when other players surpass his achievements. Getz and Perry are already on their way as they've secured another eight years here. Ryan could be there if re-signed in a couple of years. I have got to give props to Hiller here. He's the reason why JS is no longer here and we relied on him so much. If not for the vertigo symptoms, our seasons would have been different.

Ozo is a very great character guy. He had his struggles, but he walked through them and now he is a very inspirational leader here in KHL. Even the most brainless goons (was pretty big problem in KHL few years ago) respect him.

I don't understand how some of you left off Kariya. Yes he screwed us over but get over it. The guy and Selanne was the face of the franchise for 9 seasons. If it weren't for Gary Suter and those other concussion like injuries, his stats would be even higher. I'm sure those who hate him already let it be known in other Kariya hating threads but come on. I'm pissed at Nolan Ryan for going into the Hall Of Fame as a Texas Ranger, but he is with out a doubt one of the best Halos of all time.

He was a free agent he didn't screw anyone over. Same with how people say LeBron screwed over Cleveland, he didn't screw him over he had a decision and he was free to make it.

Except that isn't really how it worked, at all.

You can hate Paul for how he handled the situation, but to say he isn't a top 5 Duck of all time is so ridiculous. What he did when he was here and healthy was just amazing.

The OP says take success/stats/wins/duration into the equation. Kariya has the stats and duration - that's about all. Getzlaf & Perry now have almost caught him in the stats department and have had far more to do with Anaheim's success than Kariya. So he's not clearly top 5 anymore.

+1.

Wow. I simply can't put "+1" as a respond any longer. It has to be four characters now. Hmmm...

"Plus 1." ? ha ha ha

You know what's amazing? Going to the playoffs often. Winning a Conn Smythe. Winning a Stanley Cup. Winning a Hart trophy.

What hardware do the following have that Kariya doesn't: (From my list)
1. Teemu
2. JS
3. Getz
4. Perry
5. Scotty
6. Beauch

Also, Teemu, Getz and Perry are taking over the stats that may have seemed awesome at the time of the Kariya era, but will probably be left in the dust once Getz and Perry finish their 8 year contracts.

The only hardware that Kariya possesses that none of our contemporary Ducks will not surpass is acquiring the Lady Bing. Although, I don't think that's worth all the praise because it says, "I won this award for playing soft." - as a hockey player?! ha ha ha

Why don't you take this complaint to the other thread where it belongs and where I explained the difference between Nolan Ryan and Paul Kariya.

Post your list and let others do the same.

A Stanley Cup shouldn't be used against Kariya. Hockey is a team game, and to put someone like Beauchemin over Kariya on a list like this is pretty silly. I understand the hate for him, but lets be realistic here. Kariya probably sits #2 or #3 of best Ducks of all time, behind Selanne and arguably Giguere.

I do think that Getzlaf and Perry will probably both pass Kariya eventually, but I wouldn't put them ahead right now.
