I'm sure to even get Poiles attention you'd have to bring Tavares into the discussion.

Just stop. Both Tavares and Weber are going nowhere. They are their respective team's franchise players.

Griffin is a nice piece, but I would have to think that instead of the 2014 pick that some of the Islanders young offensive prospects would need to be in there. At least one of Nino or Strome.

Griffin, Nino/Strome, Pokka, 2013 1st, A MacDonald.

Expensive... and while I might be able to see Nashville considering it, I can't see the Islanders offering it (not that I could see them offering the OPs offer either).

I don't believe Weber can be traded prior to the 2013 draft so the 1st from anyone would be out. It would have to be a "pick and trade". As I recall, the stipulation on offer sheets being matched is 12 months (to the day) the player must remain with the team. I don't remember the day Nashville matched but I do know it was in July and with the Draft on June 30 it can't happen.

This.

Who/what would the Isles want for Streit's rights?

Tavares would need to be coming back. No parts and prospects or picks. We need a 25+ defender, another top 4defender and a first liner. Or an elite center (Tavares) + a defensman.

Not that either team is trading these players but you think it would take Tavares+. lol

Tavares has more value and that's not how 90% of NHL trades work

Right i'm sure that Nashville would trade there franchise player to the Islanders for a bunch of no bodys and so how does this deal benefit Nashville again.

If he's definitely leaving, the standard 4th rounder would probably do the trick.

Weber isn't getting traded, period. Neither is Tavares. It baffles me that people keep posting these proposals when there is a 0% chance Poile trades Weber.

I can't see Nashville trading Weber this summer. They basically can't trade him till after they pay him 13M. He only gets paid 1M during the season so basically they would basically have paid Weber 27M to play 48 games. I am guessing they want a bit more bang for their buck with that cash.

If Nashville is going to trade Weber it will be next year just before the next 13M bonus kicks in

Andrew Macdonald is the only roster player you guys offered up, you are still getting a norris caliber defender for the rest of his career in my offer.

If we ever want/have to move Weber we are going to ask for a defensman first and then we need an elite center. Thus Tavares + defender.

Why do people keep including 2013 picks in their Weber proposals? Even if this package were good enough, and it clearly is not, Weber cannot be traded until after the 2013 draft.

Kevin Klein is damn near untouchable at the moment. Nashville needs to add a second pairing defenseman, not jettison one.

Blum is a nice player, but he's not what the Islanders need on their D. No dice.

100% of NHL trades do not work when an asset that is not even available (any 2013 pick) is included in a package.

I don't think its actually the worst trade in the world, although this may sound like a homers opinion. Nashville would be getting back Reinhart, the 13th ranked prospect in the game and a guy who could be Webers heir (potentially of course) MacDonald, who is a #3 defensemen right now, and Pokka, who could be an interesting prospect, could become a 3rd or 4th defensemen. In addition to that, you're getting two first round picks, which at worst should be mid round picks, at best could be around top five. I understand Weber is your franchise players, but franchise players have gone for ALOT less. So Nashville could be making off with 75 percent of their top four defensemen in this trade, along with two first round picks. Not really that bad if you ask me
