I have a strong dislike for Boston and I can't say as I think much of the Rangers, either way.
HOWEVER, a part of me can't help but think that the better Boston does, the better it reflects upon the Leafs. I know it's a flawed analysis to say that because Boston is only a little bit better than Toronto, and Boston beats NY Rangers handily, then the Leafs must also be better than NY Rangers. That reasoning does not necessarily follow. That's not the way match-ups on the ice work in the real world.
So while I acknowledge it's a flawed analysis, it's still one that you can't completely put aside. It tugs, it pulls, and hotly blows in your ear with a sly, enticing smile, just the same. You can't ignore it -- and you are lying if you say you do.
Cheering for Boston is a tough way to put it though. I'd rather say that I would rather Boston wins. But "cheering"? No. I can't close the deal on the use of that verb to describe my motives concerning the Bruins, sorry.
If only they could both lose. I'm cheering against for obvious reasons.....but i am also NOT cheering FOR the Rags. The thought of Torts winning bugs me, that and Sather should actually feel some reprocussions for the crap signings he makes.
