I sure hope so! Chicago should be ashamed for what they did to him!

It would be a great story if he did. Although unlikely.

What revenge? He tried to get as much money as he could, and San Jose offersheeted another player the Hawks were trying to sign. They couldn't sign both.

what? He's the one that signed the offersheet, knowing his team was under a cap crunch. He chose to leave. Chicago would be getting revenge on him.

edit: oh, arbitration. My drunk memory's bad. Either way, he wanted more money than they could afford, and by not agreeing to something they could, he chose to leave.

Nah, he went to arbitration knowing Chicago was under the crunch. Hjalmarsson is the one that offersheeted by San Jose. But yes, it would be Chicago getting "revenge" if you can even call it that.

He didn't sign an offersheet. He went to arbitration. Hjarmalsson signed an offersheet and Chicago matched. That took away the money they wanted to use on Niemi. They had a tough decision and the made their choice.

Niemi didn't leave via offer sheet.

Niemi filed for arbitration during the offseason, and was eventually awarded $2.75 million. Chicago officially walked away from the deal on August 2 because of salary cap restraints, and signed veteran goaltender Marty Turco from the Dallas Stars for $1.3 million.

I don't think that's how Revenge exactly works.

Niemi just went to arbitration and the sharks picked him up when the Hawks left.

What revenge? Niemi wanted more money while the Hawks where in a cap crunch. There should be no revenge here.

Cap hell dude. Niemi wanted to go to arbitration and get as much money as he could, I don't blame him but let's not make it out like he got railroaded.

There's no revenge on either party. It was just one those situations. Nemo needed to max out and CHI couldn't afford that 2,75M.

Niemi wanted to get paid and left a Cup winning team to get his money as soon as he possibly could. Within hours of winning the Cup, he was talking about the money he was going to get.

This isn't really Niemi's revenge tour, it's more of a Thornton/Marleau revenge tour. Especially if it goes: Canucks, Blackhawks, Ducks, Bruins. It would be a thing of beauty really.

Maybe OP meant Niemi will get revenge on the people who said he was the worst goalie ever to win a cup
