this is sad. Read his last few tweets.

https://twitter.com/Tim_Samaras

anyone who watched that show as I did, knows the irony of this as his group was one of the safest and least likely to venture into dangerous areas when chasing.

http://news.discovery.com/earth/weat...ado-130602.htm

One guy was found dead in the vehicle strapped in, while another was found a half mile away - ripped from the truck by the tornado.

That's also amazing, yes. To put these streaks into perspective, second place on the consecutive quarterfinals record is Jimmy Connors with 27 straight quarters, so Federer has passed that by 33% and counting.

I cant get into that show, there's almost no plot.

Or, it's probably more accurate to say that there is a plot, but it's an obviously intentionally stalllllllllllllllled and slow plot to drag this highly profitable series out for many more episodes than it should/could, which makes it seem like there's no plot. Sadly, the gf likes this crap. I usually use that hour to review stocks, read news, play fiddle, or work on some silly project.

I bet next week's episode will have at least one gruesome death and one sex scene.

I loved Storm Chasers. So sad what happened to Tim, Carl and Paul, RIP. Those guys were all about science first.

It really is saddening that his team TWISTEX were one of the safer chasing teams on the show. I can't help to think if he had a vehicle like the TIV or Reed's tank they might have survived. Since they were so careful in where they chased, I have to think that the tornado took a major unexpected turn and had very little time to escape it's path. I can't imagine how the other team member, Tony, is feeling. He was always the scout guy and must have been just a few miles away looking at the tornado.

Damn....That's just terrible but that's Mother Nature for you. You can predict all you like on what path a Tornado goes but you can't predict whether that "path" will change and how fast it would as well.

This is why I have mad respect for "Storm Chasers" and I mean the ones who do it for scientific study(not for some cheap thrill).

RIP, Mr. Samaras.

actually the plot is so complex is why it's so slow. Every scene almost without exception is shot and matched with dialogue that is absolutely key to the story somehow later. You don't realize it at the time which is why the following is so hardcore. I once pish poshed the notion of this show only to really dive in and love it for how well the characters are written. It doesn't need the violence or sex if you're really paying attention but that's probably only about 20% of the non-book reading viewership who are busy texting, talking or playing their fiddles. So of course, they spice it up with gratuitous sex scenes and plenty of blood for shock value to the eye feasting types.

As far as the length of the series, it's 5 books long and that's hard to do well on a tv show so they're breaking this book into 20 episodes (two seasons). I find the pace to be perfect now that so much of the intricate details of the key plot points are unfolding in tandem. You don't simply check in with each major character for 5 minutes each show, but rather get in depth and sometimes go 3, 4 or 5 episodes without seeing them again. Not only that, but unlike most series, this one is not afraid to kill off anyone. In fact, it thrives on that to the point of pissing off the fans.

the school should’ve praised lil junior for his brave actions and encouraged other kids to take on his 'vigilante justice' attitude.

really, what did you expect the school to do? it’s a school

Wait, does that mean that there's going to be almost 10 years of this crap?

Not shocking, there are plenty of left-wing bleeding heart pansies in Canada. That story could just have easily taken place in Camden or Chatham, New Jersey. I predict homeschooling booms in the next 10 years or so.

Yes and No. They did season 1 and 2 for books 1 and 2. 3 and 4 are reported to be 2 seasons each and books 5 and 6 one each.

That could all change - the author is writing both the final book (6) and the show version at the same time and changing the plot as needed. The final book will be published next year.

Book 1 = Season 1
Book 2 = Season 2
Book 3 to page 700ish = Season 3
Book 3 700-1100 = Season 4

Books 4 and 5 are a bit weird in terms of chronology but combined will be two seasons.

So 5 books will take 6 seasons but we are waiting on Book 6.

The final book, RG, is Book 7.

Yeah, directly commiserate with HBO's ratings. I promise you they're gonna 'Harry Potter' the crap outta this thing if the ratings hold up.

Wow; Big Sky is one of those resorts I've always wanted to ski, and I am sitting on approximately 200,000 Continental/United frequent flier miles. Definitely makes that ski trip even more enticing.
